From news article. I don't know who those people are but give me them over Franny Jeffers any day.

"Schira also stated that Ancelotti’s son Davide would join him as assistant, Francesco Mauri and Manuel Morabito will be coaches, Simone Montanaro and Luca Guerra analysts, and Beniamino Fulco as sports scientist. It has previously been rumoured that current caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson would remain on the coaching staff."

Fascinating to see what they all make of the club behind closed doors and once they were settled in. It takes only 2 minutes to look at our record over thirty years and all of the false dawns.

Perhaps in a reverse way, this might be the appeal for Ancelotti rather than coming to a club that just needs finishing touches. We require an almost complete overhaul to approach being even near relevant.

If I have a concern its that we do not have the calibre of hierarchy at the club to match a man of Ancelotti's achievements and people with his record tend to see past bluffers very quickly, though hopefully not before the contract is signed first!

Carlo Ancelotti has flown to London for talks with Everton over becoming the club's new manager.

The 60-year-old is now the leading candidate to replace the sacked Marco Silva and further discussions, after an initial meeting last week, with the club's board of directors will take place today.

Everton issued a statement last night to clarify that no formal contract offer had been made to Ancelotti or any of the "number" of candidates on their short-list.

But the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is firmly in the club's sights. And face-to-face talks with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and other Goodison power brokers are expected to happen today.

After being sacked by Napoli last week, Ancelotti was ready to wait until the summer for a new job. But he is interested by what Everton have had to say and is keen to learn more.

Ancelotti, the ECHO understands, is looking for clarity over the Blues' plans for the summer transfer window and will seek more information over Moshiri's project.
It has been suggested that Everton would present the three-time Champions League winning boss a three-and-a-half-year deal should talks progress to that stage and a formal offer is made.

Hello Alisher my old friend

Fascinating to see what they all make of the club behind closed doors and once they were settled in. It takes only 2 minutes to look at our record over thirty years and all of the false dawns.

I know it's problematic, but I use ELO rankings of clubs. The only 1 of his last 6 jobs that he took over a team ranked where we are (we are currently 34th in Europe) was PSG who were 38. He spent (when you adjust to inflation within the PL) between 500-600 million in two seasons and left them ranked in the top 10 of Europe.

I am not going to speculate too much, but there would be a reasonable theory to say he has been promised substantial money (akin to PSG) with the intent of doing a similar job.

There will be a legitimate question asked as to where the funding will arrive from.I have my own views on this. There is also a question of how does this fit with having Brands on board and the broader strategy (can he adapt?).

I will be very surprised though, if significant funds were not made available to Ancelotti.

It may sound crazy, but I wouldn't rule out an approach for Koulibaly in January.

His son was a youth player at Milan but his coaching background is as a physio, so hopefully room for football coach (Duncan) as an assistant as well.

Like pretty much everyone I’m on a huge high so By no means an actual concern but as I understand it in recent years Clements did a lot of coaching I think before he moved on so I’d like to see an established or experienced coach in there .

Anyone reckon appointing Ancelloti will be enough to give us the pulling power for World class players? Or do we need to be in champs league?

I thought Spurs were after Koubailly in January.
I would take Sanchez off SPURS ,pair him with Mina like they do for Colombia

Got lucky winning those three champions leagues

Easy to win European Cups but only the most relaxed, not caring managers who don't care about fitness can get 3 of them. :hayee:

I wish he brings Maldini and Tassotti along with him lol

Maldini could probably still do a job but really left back is the last position we have to worry about. :D

I hope he uses Dunc to good effect. I'd hate to think of an unhappy Dunc heading off to Boro or Birmingham or whatever and working his magic there.

Tbh if Ferguson wants to manage here but he himself said he hasn't got the experience then he needs to go out there and get it. I believe Royle was our oldest manager at appointment before the recent influx of Koeman, Allardyce and now hopefully Ancelotti (not sure if that counts Kendall mk 3 though just because he was already here previously), so at 47 which I think was roughly the same age as big Joe then he needs to get on his bike.

If he can work his way up and prove is the man to take over in 8/10 years that would be beneficial to us all, no? If he can't then he can always come back and get a youth team gig and possibly caretaker duties in future.
