Guardian are reporting it as a done deal subject to him agreeing an out with Napoli. I know from experience they don't go to press unless something is double sourced.

I know, but it's still hard to digest the news. There's a further report in Gazetta (the printed version) claiming that the meeting with Ancelotti took place in London between him and Usmanov, if true that seems a very encouraging development.

Maybe not quite world class but the next level down.
I can see Zlatan been approached as a striker and mentor for Kean ,Richarlison and DCL for 18 months.

It just seems a logical link to me. Moshiri mentioned him 3 summers ago, Ancelotti has worked with him, he is being offered out to other clubs, we need a CB.

But wasn't that the whole idea with the Rooney signing too and he was average and left the season after. I'm not knocking the idea of Zlatan but I'd just hope we'd be aiming for players with a few more years in them and at their peak especially with Ancelloti as manager. Surely he gives us some pulling power?
