Carlo Ancelotti

I actually have massive respect for him coming here, he clearly believes he can sort this crap out and has seen through the awful squad and knows we have money and ambition.

He isn't just thinking about adding more trophies to his cabinet asap he's clearly fed up of moving every few years and wants to settle.
Or he's impressed by the contract.

What kind of formation/tactics could we expect to see under Carlo?
For anyone that way inclined I'd be interested to see an XI for the weak state we're in now and one for our strongest potential XI once everyone is fit and he's had Jan transfer window.

Apparently prefers a 4-4-2.

From the Echo:
Favoured formations
Although Ancelotti is willing to adapt his formations throughout a season, at Napoli, he tended to rely predominantly on a 4-4-2 formation, utilising the same in 70%+ of his matches in charge.
In possession, this can often adjust into a 3-5-2 with a focus on building attacks down the flanks. To do so, one wing-back would push forward in attacks and make overlapping runs whilst the left-sided winger would cut inside. On the opposite flank, the right-back would normally stick and support the two central defenders.
Without the ball, providing their initial counter-press is unsuccessful, his Napoli side would tend to drop back into a rigid 4-4-2 formation, remaining compact in the central areas and looking to force opponents into the less dangerous wide areas.
Style of play
The mild-mannered Italian coach doesn’t tend to focus on one particular style of play and will often adjust tactics depending on the opposition. That being said, on the whole, he does like his side to dominate key areas of the pitch.
Last season, Napoli enjoyed the second-highest ball possession average, scored the second-highest amount of goals, had the second-highest xG, took the most shots and had the second-lowest xGA in the league.

Baines Left Foot is getting a lot of attention of the weirdos forum. They are still harping on its a wind up and we wont get him

Rattled 100%
Let's not kid ourselves that just because we get Ancelotti we're going to become some sort of superforce once again. It will still take years, and that's only providing he is given substantial funds to revamp the squad. Now, he has to work with the likes of Keane, Schneiderlin and Walcott. That said, it is a massive step in the right direction for us and a hugely surprising and exciting coup for us.

Liverpool have absolutely no reason at all to be rattled.

Everton statement

In the 11 days since Marco Silva left the club, the Everton Board have been working to recruit a new manager - and has held meetings with a number of canidates.
We can confirm that thus far no contract offer has been made and no candidate has chosen to withdraw from the process.
And no offer had been made at the time of that statement. But it will be all done soon

Loving this idea that Usmanov has decided you only live once , is worth £18b and only has to put £2b of those into Everton to have the best 10 years of his life.

If this was actually true though , how would he siphon his money into the club? The super rich will always find ways but the other clubs in England will not like to see us spending properly, and FFP exists
