Carlo Ancelotti

Shall we just ignore the 7 trophies 2 of which were the champions league during them 8 years at Milan then mate.

No, not at all, we shouldn’t ignore them. It’s a great record from a great manager at a great club and, as far as I can see, everyone is giving those achievements their proper respect.

But acting as if appointing Carlo Ancelotti raises no questions or concerns and refusing to discuss them is counter-productive too.

Pellegrini is a good manager in my opinion. No doubt

He also seems to be a popular man manager who gets the best out of people

It wouldn't have bothered me if we'd got him instead of Silva

That being said, he's currently at West Ham and we're not remotely linked to him, so the fact so much discussion of him is going on in the Carlo Ancelotti thread seems very puzzling

Sacked by 6 of his 9 clubs.

Averages 19 months per role (excluding AC Milan).

No experience working at this level.

Rejected by top clubs in recent years.

Ancelotti is an exciting appointment. He’s one of the greatest managers of all time. But why is it so horrific to discuss these reservations in the same way we did with all the other suggested managers?
Because you're absolutely beating a dead horse at this point.

Here's a cold hard fact for you: out of all of the possible available managers out there we have, for once, gone out and hired the best one by a country mile and yet you insist on continuing to pick holes in it page after page after page even to the point of mentioning bloody Howe and Pelligrini in the same breathe!!

You're getting ignored from this point.

Because it is, now shut up.

I like you point mate.

If you are a blue you definitely don't sit on the Top Balcony

You'd have thrown yourself off years ago.

If Ancelotti comes its not going to be a long term thing. If he is here in 18 months and doing a decent job then as soon as a bigger club is needing a manager he will be off with his kicks round his ankles. As good as he is, I don't think he is the right fit. The money will be ridiculous. Anyone thinking that Ancelotti automatically means the likes of James etc are going to be coming at the bit to sign are deluded. I'd rather the club were honest with its position and brought in Howe to build something.

To be honest it should be Dunc till the end of the season and see where the club is then.
What bigger club? He's managed all the big clubs and won with them.
He's not going to manage Barca because of Real, nor Inter because of AC. So you're left with clubs like Dortmund, Monaco or Spurs. If he's doing well in England, it's because he's being backed, why leave to another English side?
If this works, he'll stay put till BMD opens (2048 :) ).

I will say for him that he seems to be able to spot a player (He took a big chance on Ake for instance and people were going mad on here at how much he paid for him, but he was resoundly justified for doing so)
And spent a billion quid on absolute rubbish from across the park.

Has Solanke scored yet?
