But why isn't the best right for us. We have tried up and coming now 3 times and it's not worked out.

Any manager who comes in has the same task at hand. How on earth are the likes of Eddie Howe for example ' more qualified' or ' better suited' to overcome all obstacles than Carlo Ancelotti? How is that horses for courses ?

Mate Guardiola's eyelash could run tranmere. He's brought his philosophy successfully at every club he's been at. To say he couldn't manage tranmere is quite laughable to be honest.
Mrs zlatan :Honey ,there is some chap called Eddie Howe on the other line for you
Zlatan :Who the hell is Eddie Howe,
Tell him to naff off ,I am speaking to my good friend and mentor Carlo on my private line

The wider narrative has, as it often is, been seemingly lost this afternoon.

And again, maybe its me and my dots, but think about it.

He becomes available. He is a very rich man, (I assume), has zero to prove to anyone in the game, a few days ago Everton was probably not even in his mind.

Then, contact. Apparently a meeting, probably more than one, in London with, apparently, Mosh & Co. (insert relevant billionaire). Problem with his Napoli contract. Sorted.

Then, again apparently, not an 18 months deal, but a 4 1/2 year one. That to me is the important bit. He has been sold a vision, a project, (I effin hate that word in football), but whatever it is, it kinda excites me that he has bought into all this stuff.

Just hope I am right. But the dots have been ok so far.
I think its safe to say a manager of this calibre wouldnt raise an eye brow ( oops ) if this wasnt sold to him as a major project (oops ) if there wasnt some major plans backed up with some serious serious money involved.

Just to get him sitting round a table shows he's been shown the bigger picture and for him to find it attractive enough it must be massive.

Are Champions League / title winning managers any good at fighting relegation?

I don’t know. There’s not much data on that.

Benitez couldn’t keep Newcastle up
Klopp took Mainz down.
Ranieri basically took Atletico down
Even my mate Pellegrini took Universidad de Chile down.

Seems managers who coach at the top, rarely venture into those depths, but when they do, the results aren’t particularly good.
As we arnt in a relagation battle, we will let u no when we are in one

Planning permission in check
Big name manager in check
Potential sites on Liverpool waters sorted check
Big Daddy providing the funds check

We never would have attracted Ancelotti back in the days of BK. We’ve actually got spending power now and we mean business.

I don’t think CA will guarantee success but it’s a huge step in the right direction.
