Well they clearly do care about us otherwise they wouldn't be doing hit pieces on us all the time

If West Ham or Newcastle for instance were going for a manager of Ancelotti's standing the media would be going nuts. Just look at the reaction when Benitez went to Newcastle for instance, the media were lapping it up

Said it for a while its because their are 2 categories to being a media darling

1. Proximity to the South/London

2. Your relevance since the PL era

The likes of Spurs/WHU even clubs in and around the Midlands like Villa and Leicester are 1, Newcastle are 2 (the entertainers in the 90's).

Sadly we are neither and to make it worse our rivals are massive media darlings with a huge media/journo prescence.

Yeah but they don't have mystique.

Ancelotti has a reputation for being a hands-off manager who lets players do what they want. He expects them to motivate themselves. Whether that model will work with out mob remains to be seen. It does work when you have squads full of motivated winners.

But it seems he was getting SO laidback it was becoming a hindrance, if Bayern Munich is any guide.
Compared to Pep.. context, pep very hands on CA isn’t as hands on

Surely announced tomorrow.
Planning application is Monday. Not gonna wanna steal thunder from that.

They will have to announce it tomorrow if he’s attending the game the next day.

Announce it tomorrow, increases excitement and atmosphere in the stadium on Saturday when he’s in the stands. Also gives fans a chance to thank Dunc for turning our fortunes around over the last few weeks at the end of the game.

When you have spent the best part of 2 decades managing mostly top clubs and winning pretty much everything there is to win, it must be extremely tempting and refreshing to be offered a chance to manage a club that has a really good history but has been on a downer for a long time and is owned by a billionaire who has promised to give you as much money and power as is required to bring said club back to the top.

It was a done deal from the beginning and i doubt he was ever even interested in going anywhere else at the time, probably would have had a years holiday.

Watching him on the touchline and in charge of our team on boxing day is going to be the most exciting day in about 25 years for me.

As a 31 year old Evertonian who’s never seen us win anything I am thrilled by the start of the Ancelotti era.

It might not work out but it’s a great sign of ambition and I’m 100% behind this.

This would be a massive deal if it was any other club...The talking heads in the media have been willing Arsenal to appoint him but as soon as it looked like he was coming manage us "it's a wrong fit" he's a "manager on the decline" or he's "gone for the money" and it was never going to be any different. It will just make it all more sweeter in the end.
