Got to say, I’m not really comfortable with all this ‘bunker mentality’, the world is against us stuff.
I honestly don’t think the media are angry about Ancelotti joining us. I don’t think they’re lashing out in spite.
I think some people are expressing surprise that he’s joined us for sure. But, outside of our own blue tinted vision, be realistic people. We have achieved diddly squat in decades. We know Everton is special. But to the outside world I’m afraid we do look just like a mediocre club. I’m not surprised at all that some are surprised at us getting Ancelotti.
And some in the media are making comments about us being incoherent and slap dash. But I think that is a fair point too. If I have any concern about Ancelotti’s appointment it’s that we do seem to have done a U-turn and ripped up the plan. Maybe that’s a good thing but I worry how Brands fits in to all this.
Sports journalists can point out these matters without having it in for us or wanting to keep us ‘in our place’.
Put the tin foil hats away please people. That kind of paranoia is exactly what marks that lot on RAWK as cranks and weirdos.
A U turn on the plan? We dint and havnt has a plan, except buy young and sell on.. that won’t change, we now have a WORLD CLASS MANAGER who will attract better players.. take Richarlison mate, who laugh off joining us. Bet he will nowGot to say, I’m not really comfortable with all this ‘bunker mentality’, the world is against us stuff.

GodGold?
It's a potential game changer. More from the point of view that he attract genuine talent, rather than the expensive no marks Brands and Koeman bought.
Can I be the voice of doom?
I have huge reservations about this move.
Yes, a legendary manager with a great reputation.
But has he still got the fire? Or is it just another massive payday and if it doesn't work then hey, still collect the £40m?
I hate signing people on the way down, players or managers.
Who will he bring on his coaching staff? His son? Well, that doesn't strike me as someone who has kept up to date with the most promising young coaches in Europe.
Evertonians want passion, they want it to matter. Koeman style half-arsed stuff boils my blood.
I hope he turns up and works every second of every day for success and delivers it, but I wouldn't touch a deal like this with a barge pole.
We’ve gone for a world name but limited managerial experience in koeman with Walsh as DOF that was a disaster. We panicked and brought in Allardyce which was never going to work to propel us to european places with that brand of football. We recruited another DOF with experience in Brands, along with the strange choice of Silva, who didn’t have the necessary skills for the job. We’ve finally recruited a world class manager, who is a proven winner, which is what we’ve always wished for. I really don’t know where we go from here should he fail. Which I don’t think he will btw. I agree the appointment of Ancelotti puts Brands position in jeopardy. With Ancelotti’s success in the game, I hardly think he needs or will welcome Brands input on players.Got to say, I’m not really comfortable with all this ‘bunker mentality’, the world is against us stuff.

I'm sure he will. We have adequate players apart from Digne and maybe Richarlison who are good players. He needs to spend a few quid and use the loan system in January to good effect. In addition to attracting better talent I would not be surprised if he can coax better performance out of certain members of the existing squad.
I honestly don’t think there is that resentment mate. Why would there be?It's more that they're implicating we should know our place, how dare we employ someone of his standing.
There's no tin hat conspiracies. There's a lot of resentment towards us from the media, it's there for everyone to see.
You'd think it was us that had cost England club competition football in the 80s.
Yeah you are right on ere,,, we should wait until summer when a proper manager is available. Just 'cos this guy has won a few trophies doesn't mean he;s a good manager. I mean look at Mr Moyes, trophy-less in his career and yet a true managerial legend! Can I be the voice of doom?
