I have huge reservations about this move.

Yes, a legendary manager with a great reputation.

But has he still got the fire? Or is it just another massive payday and if it doesn't work then hey, still collect the £40m?

I hate signing people on the way down, players or managers.

Who will he bring on his coaching staff? His son? Well, that doesn't strike me as someone who has kept up to date with the most promising young coaches in Europe.

Evertonians want passion, they want it to matter. Koeman style half-arsed stuff boils my blood.

I hope he turns up and works every second of every day for success and delivers it, but I wouldn't touch a deal like this with a barge pole.

We've tried younger managers presumably on their way "up" mate. Martinez, Koeman, Silva. That didn't work out too well.

Manuel Pellegrini was 60 and had won a lot in football when he went to Manchester City, and he had enough fire still to win the Premier League at that age.

I honestly don’t think there is that resentment mate. Why would there be?

I think some of us are too touchy, taking things to heart and interpreting them as insults when they’re not.

I guess that is good in a way. It shows people really care about the club and don’t like it being disrespected.

But I think if you looked at these things in a cool and rational manner, you’d find it’s just journalists raising relevant points with no unwarranted malice really.

Only yesterday we where told.. Everton should choose Moyes or Howe or Hughes over Ancelotti. The reason being a manager who won more then them 3 out together can’t manager a team that’s finished 7/8/8 in the last few years.

Dunc Ferguson who never managed a game in his life beat Chelsea and then almost beat Utd( away) with a 3rd choice CB in midfield and drew with 2nd place Leicester after being 2-0 down with 8 1st team players out...
Now imagine what a man who won pretty much everything there is to win and has managed the best players and team in the world and has managed over 600 games can do

Carlo Ancelotti is thought to be finalising his backroom staff at new club Everton, according to The Telegraph. The former Milan and Chelsea coach is expected to sign his contract with The Toffees today before taking a place in the stands at Goodison Park for tomorrowâs game against Arsenal.

That’s people expressing the opinion that those type of managers would be better for us in our current situation.

Now, in my view, if people honestly hold that opinion, I think that shows they are not very bright, don’t really think things through, are pretty closed minded, and just outright incorrect.

It doesn’t mean they’ve got it in for us though.
