We had that with our manager for years, go there and play to the opponents rather then how we want to play, it’s a complete mentality change

I'd say Martinez and Silva both never changed their style of play no matter who we played and were very rigid and that was ridiculous.

Not actually sure what Koeman was trying. Didn't see any sort of style of play with him.

This really. I always felt that Silva was dogmatic about ‘his system’, a single striker, zonal marking etc etc, and that in game tactical changes were for the birds. We may be going overboard with Ancelloti but for Christ’s sake look what the man has achieved, however you just sort of know that if something is not working in the game then he will change it. This only comes from experience and football knowledge, you can’t bluff it, and the ability to be flexible and react or do the unexpected is in his armoury, which it wasn’t unfortunately with Silva.....

Ancelotti has made tactical changes to try to exploit our opponents systems rather than simply try to nullify them. I don’t think we have good enough players simply to impose our style of play on the game against the likes of City or the RS, but hopefully that will come.

Exactly. He's all but stated himself that it's a tweaking job until the summer, at which point he has a couple of months to work with them and to bring in 2/3 more players to add to the (hopefully) couple he brings here in January.

In short: we aint seen nothin' yet.

I hope this wave of adulation doesn't ebb should we lose the next two. Even if we perform badly. We're on to something with Ancelotti.

This just isn't going to happen. There's a huge groundswell of support for him. I think you'll find that even the sternest supporters of this club always had it's best intentions at heart.

We have the best manager in a position to restore what we all want. Being the best, winning trophies. Literally everything has changed. The divisions amongst the supporter base have dissipated. Simply because the board have finally brought in someone who unequivocally is the right man for the job.

If they back him and trust him, he will become a legend. And he'll love us for the most idiosyncratic, fervent, dysfunctional, knowledgeable supporters in the game.

Let's face it, getting us all to agree on something is like herding kangaroos. But that's what makes us unique. I'd sit down and have a pint with an Evertonian anyday. I'd walk away from another clubs supporter.

Call it a project, call it what you will. By the time we're done with him. He'll have blue blood running through his veins and he'll die an Evertonian, like the rest of us.

Ancelotti had Paul Clement as his assistant manager in Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern München. He was sacked from Swansea in 2017 and is another example of assistant managers who failed to be a no 1. Do you think Ferguson will be a success if he take over after Ancelotti in a four year's time?

Who said Carlo is leaving in 4 years, no way here to stay.

You seem happy with the appointment @davek. Proven winner, vast experience, he ticks all the boxes for me also.
