There are only four Italian managers who have won the Premier League though. Carlo, Mancini, Ranieri and Conte.

With the exception of Ranieri at Leicester the others were at Clubs with unlimited funds and superstar squads.

You need to know what we lack and what he can bring to address our problem.

We’ve tried the Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese possession stuff and non worked because we lack quality players.

Italian style of direct and efficient Football will suit our limited players more than you can imagine.

Some may think this crazy but I feel if big Dunc were still in charge we'd have been more likely to have gotten something from at least one of our last two games. He'd have kept it simple and played 4-4-2, selected the players that were most committed, gotten them and the fans up with more dressing room and sideline passion, made sure they didn't try to play it around at the back, got if forward quickly and hauled off those who he felt weren't giving everything.
It was particularly noteworthy how flat the team were after the half time team talk. Nothing to worry about though. Carlo will surely sort it long term and if he doesn't never mind. He'll only be the most expensive sacking in football history. :)
You may be right, we will never know. But Duncs style of football is not long-term. Remember the arsenal game? Wasn't much different to this one, they played a load of kids, we didn't have the legs. Only difference was a worldy of a goal.

Playing a RB on the wing, Again, It's worked once

Playing the two slowest midfielders we have against young kids

Second half, losing the battle in the middle, Instead of throwing Davies or Delph on to try and gives us a fighting chance he lashes another striker on

He should have started with Davies and Holgate in the middle, anything is better than Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson.

I like the (with a wry smile on his face at the end) "I don't normally speak to players after a game, but I will be speaking with them"

Good, he didn’t look happy at all on the touch line today. Sadly I don’t think any of them will be bothered. Too many players who only care about their finances in this team and honestly don’t care about the club or want to put the effort in. There lies one of our major problems.

If only we could start deducting wages per poor performance Im sure we’d see a few springs in the steps of many.....

I see the fifa manager brigade are out in force again and here to educate our manager. Who cares if Ancelotti has won the league in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France along with three champions leagues and countless cups along the way. Who cares if he's one of the most successful and decorated managers in the history of the game, he's no match for the brilliance, wit, intellect and general knowledge of the lads on GOT is he?!

But he had the opportunity to change things and didn't.

I think it's fair to criticise him for that.

I'll reiterate - proper chuffed we've got him, he's world class. Our squad is garbage. Brands is on his last chance because tbh if not for Ancelotti we'd have no chance of attracting the level of player needed to improve us.

We've got to bin off half of the squad in the next two windows. It's a crapshow, I know.

But that isn't an excuse for not turfing Sidibe (who bloody hell, despite Toffee TV's love-in with him because he can cross, is utterly garbage in games like this) off at half-time and getting a player on capable of running with the ball.
We are limited by choice and he wants a RW I think that’s why he keeps playing him over Walcott

Carlo deffo gets a pass on this one. It’s the players who let him down big time, as they did the last manager. There may be one or two who can be improved but the rest need to be shown the door.

Think people are getting a bit too distracted by irrelevancies.

It’s just about a game of football. That involves picking eleven players that you think suit a game plan, motivating them to run and tackle and do the things that the game plan requires.

And quite simply: the personnel he picked did not suit the plan, the plan didn't suit the game, and the players didn't look motivated or hungry.

That doesn’t mean Carlo out or whatever. He needs time to understand the squad, alter it, find a system that works etc. But today was a huge failure on basic requirements.

Time for Ancellotti to end the old boys club that exists at Goodison.
Sack Ebbrell, Unsworth, Jeffers and the like and get some quality coaches in, we are a premier League club with millions at our disposal and we employ cone carriers as coaches to our investment.
Have a look at City and the like, they dont mess about
