The same players have gone to Anfield 4 times in a year and lost every time... it’s a mentality issue, we lose almost as soon as we walk on the pitch... Every single big game in the last 20 years we have bottled.. it’s anti Carlo fault it’s Moyes

Said to the kopite in work today , I would have put Holgate in the middle today,
He said is your midfield that bad.
I said if those kids can run with a bit of pace are lot will not get near them.
He just tx me said I see what you mean ,not rubbing it in but they are just not good enough, they wouldn't even get in are reserves.

We have the worst midfield in the league edge, slow, cant pick a pass and worst of all they dont put in any effort

Dead right i don't, and that is part of what i'm saying, i dont have a clue, but they have been good enough to win about 10 trophies in 5 years.
can you honestly see Jeffers being a top class coach..... really?
They also spent more on their defence then we have on our entire team

This is ultimately it, you could have Pep as manager with Messi Ronaldo and Mbappe upfront but if your midfield two are the worst two players in our history then you won’t win many games.

If that was the case, you wouldn’t play a two and you wouldn’t base your whole game plan around going through them.

That involves picking eleven players that you think suit a game plan, motivating them to run and tackle and do the things that the game plan requires.

And quite simply: the personnel he picked did not suit the plan, the plan didn't suit the game, and the players didn't look motivated or hungry.

That doesn’t mean Carlo out or whatever. He needs time to understand the squad, alter it, find a system that works etc. But today was a huge failure on basic requirements.
Are you think that if he'd picked different players from our joke of a squad we'd of done better today? Who do you think he should he of picked to play today and do you honestly think that it would of made much of a difference?

The players aren't motivated or hungry full stop, none of them are. They don't give a dam about this football club and they keep showing it. He can't play for them or make the players have some self-respect and care. No system or style will ever make this squad good. Ancelotti will understand our team after today alright. He'll understand that the lot of them are losers who need shipping out at earliest possible opportunity.

*that were fit

Dare I say had he put Davies or Gordon in the middle instead of the Ghost we may have shown a little more energy/bite and got the ball forward?

Definitely needs to share some of the blame today. I could understand Schneiderlin coming in with sicknote Delph having been a doubt but absolutely no excuse picking Siggurdsson.

We love this mysterious idea about mentality. I’m sure it plays a part but a less important one than people suggest. More important is just setting a team up well with players asked to do things they can actually do.

It wasn’t there against city or Newcastle either. So easy to put it down to some sort of hoodoo but that performance was totally in keeping with every other game this season.
Newcastle was patchy i agree but there was enough to win and control enough of the game. Burnley was good perseverance to break a pub team down , city we got stage fright again , but we did create chances and make their bum twitch a little. Tonight in that second half. The half that ultimately mattered there was nothing.

I see that................. the point i am making is that there has to be a bigger gene pool for coaches than L4.
There will be coaching geniuses out there in the big bad world who have to offer more than what we are getting from these lot?

No leadership in any sense of the word. No one to give us a bit of magic to start an attack off and no one to stand up and be counted. They never help each other at Anfield. They just put each other in trouble with terrible passes all the time.

Make your mind up in your last post you were trying to absolve Italian coaching methods of any blame. You stated that the problem with the Italian National team wasn't the coaching but the lack of quality in the playing staff.

Now you are trying to say that the way to get around a lack of quality in the playing staff is by efficient Italian coaching methods.

We have the option to sign players for that style while the national team can’t. That’s obvious isn’t it.
