Does he have another way though, I keep hearing about him being players best mate

I don't know, but I hope so. He'll have worked with rubbish players before, but you'd be going back quite a long way in his career to find anything resembling the mess we've got.

We are limited by choice and he wants a RW I think that’s why he keeps playing him over Walcott

We weren't though - not today.

Even in the first half, it was clear Rich was wasted left and Sidibe was offering zero.

We could easily have brought Bernard on and given ourselves a chance of having a player who can - at the very least - get through the lines.

Instead, he waited 15 minutes to change things, and in that 15 mins they got well on top and had complete control.

We were really poor in that United game, against their B team too! Lose that penalty shoot out and people would be putting it down to mentality. Indeed, i remember coming out of Wembley and thinking we were lucky they played a second string team. Pickford derby: the 1-0 defeat where he threw one onto Origi’s head. Even though we eventually lost, nobody was complaining about mentality (of the outfield players) then because we played well. We played well because we had a system that suited the players.
But we didn't lose the pen shootout though did we? We showed bottle when it mattered and a winners mentality that got us over the line and the victory. We didn't play well but showed bottle when it counted and won. Nobody remembers brave defeats, people remember wins and ones on the big stage most of all. B team or not that Man Utd team we played in 09 would utterly destroy us right now, easily.

People didn't complain about our mentality during that derby last season because they where still buying into the Silva BS and looking for positives where their weren't any! Even before Pickford dropped that clanger, we where still only looking at a 0-0 and where happy with it. Losers mentality.

But then we completely bottled the final? So did we have a strong mentality that season or not? Because it doesn’t mean me that mentality is a character trait that comes and goes with the weather.

Wouldn't of mattered who we played the negative attitude run right through the lot of them today.need to sign a big leader in the middle of the pitch that doesn't hide

I think Carlo will very quickly realise his relaxed "just let the players play" ethos isn't going to work here.

It works with top players, really top players who need an arm round the shoulder, it's a freedom they've seldom had in their careers. And they enjoy it.

And it works. Clearly. He gets results. For a bit.

And then within 18 months, the real pro's become fed up with a lackadaisical approach and the fans become fed up of players strolling around and regularly putting in less than 100%.

The problem is, he's come into a club where they're already strolling around. Where they aren't top players. They need a rocket up their backside.

They need someone to instil a drive, resilience, intensity and work ethic in the team that isn't there right now. THAT is why I argued he wouldn't be right for us initially. By definition, he is overqualified.

He's one of the best there is. A true, world class, top manager and he needs time and endless support to get it right here, I pray to god that the boards throw serious cash at this with him.

Because, after today, it's never been clearer that the full squad needs recycling. 3 or 4 at best, might make it on the next leg of the journey with us. Which, when you consider there are 20 odd in the squad, shows the scale of the clear out that's required to push this club back into the Europa places.

We lost that final because our manager was a gibbering idiot who had us shut up shop at 1-0 after scoring the quickest goal in the history of an FA Cup final and try to hang on. On that occasion it was the manager's losers mentality that cost us rather then the players. It can be either or both. On that occasion it was the manager's fault. We actually had a pretty good team with a decent attitude at that time that was held back by its own managers negatively and losers mentality. The attitude of Moyes and his knife to a gun fight outlook along with Bill Kenwright endlessly taking down expectations at plucky old Everton took their toll on the club and led us to where we're today.

Well at least he will know who the weak links are because that was massively embarrassing today. Got took to the cleaners by kids

Interesting quote by Ancelotti looking ahead to the Brighton game:

Now we have all week to prepare for the next game. Since I came in we played only games no training, so that will be important to improve quality and have more confidence”.

Ancelotti must be wondering why he only agreed to 9.5 mil a year, after watching that he must want double, the amount of work that is needed to sort this [Poor language removed] out

So a free ride for the Manager who picks and orgsnises these players to perform like that?

What we need is Eddie Howe
