So those two where the best option against a young mobile midfield

Sound

Please free to name the other options ?

As far as I can see they were :

A knackered Davies
Holgate - which would`ve meant putting the Sunday League defender Micheal Keane in defence.
Gibson - never started a senior game.

He had no choice mate.

As many have said look on the positives.

He`s now seen the real Morgan Schneiderlin and he`s seen the Icelandic ghost fail in every possible position he can play in.

He`s got a set of eyes and somewhere in the depths of Finch Farm there`ll be a white board with a picture of a cannon and both their names next to it.

Yesterday displayed the fact that our entire squad is made up of gutless and cowardly players just looking for a payday.

I'm concerned how this will mix with Ancelottis laid back approach, as someone who's used to working with proper winners, not whatever it is we've acquired

First day of his reign today, major changes to be made good luck Carlo you are our final hope, if this doesnt work then we really are damned to mediocrity forever

The only saving grace is that Carlo knows he has cart Blanche to sweep the board clean and every player knows it. They know he’s not going anywhere. Morgan and Gylfi can do their best to fire another manager and dupe Everton into another contract for them but even they must know that Moshiri is not going to question this bloke.

The time of reckoning is coming for this cowardly squad. Hopefully January is the start of the culling and it will continue a pace from there.

There is a common misconception that Ancelotti inherited a PSG team that was carrying all before it. This is not the case. The four seasons prior to Ancelotti joining, PSG finished 16th - 6th - 13th - 4th.

PSG had not won Ligue 1 since 1986. Ancelotti joined midway through the 2011/2012 season, and they ended the season in 2nd (albeit from a winning position). He won it the season after, and PSG haven't looked back.

He joined PSG at the beginning, and contributed to what they are now. The Everton job is obviously tougher, but he does have a track record for this sort of thing.

There's only one way it ends.
Players out the door.

If I don't remember wrong, he took over PSG when they were in second place. He also took over a club with unlimited funds and which had just been acquired by an investor group. If you measure this performance against the money invested in players, it is not very impressive. On the other hand, he led Reggiana to promotion to Series A in 1995-96.

Just cos he's laid back doesn't mean he'll let things slide.

He knows who he can work with and who he can't. And they'll be gone.

as others have said, which I was to angry to see last night

but the one positive from yesterday is that these players can't hide from that, depending on arrivals I think carlo will be feeling the same as us, he won't be bothered about losing 90% of them players
Another plus is that there is no way this woeful squad would have won the cup so we have saved ourselves further heartbreak down the line.

It's really not going to be easy to just move these players on though. They're on big contracts and we'll need fees if we're going to reinvest. It's not like he can just bin them all off and start again.
