DId you not watch the game? The play out from the back tactics had all of them in bits and the press from a load of kids meant it was a shambles. It was Carlo entirely to blame. Obvs, as blues we will blame the players.
I mentioned this before - Bayern Munich's top players Mueller, Robben had problems with Carlo's training methods and they revolted. Napoli had something similar against him. This new development confirms my opinion that Carlo is a good man manager and influences tactics on a superficial level but has no input at the base. Where most of Everton's players are.
Coaching sides with high technical skills in Real, Chelsea and Milan is one thing. Here the players have to be told who, when and where to pass to.
Carlo has to bring in more technical players as he can't work with this lot imo.
Even the previous wins weren't convincing.
Brands get to work!!

SO you think that the managers who BOUGHT the players and set them up to play the way they want and with the motivation they give the players are NOT to blame and it is the players??

Jesus, it is like none of you have ever played football before. If you are so sure it is players who make games then why do teams bother having the best managers in the world at high prices, just let the players get on with it, they can do their own formations mate.

Utter madness all over this forum

Theres also the factor of a paper thin squad with a lot of guys coming back off illness and injury having to go through Christmas and coming up against a side full of fresh legs.

They were, however, well on top first half and folded like a cheap suit when got at in the second.

I'm not part of the "make em walk home, show some balls, hang em and flog em, Tom Davies can't have a cup of tea" brigade, I'd always rather look for solutions than point fingers, but a lot of those players (and the manager yes) have questions to answer after that.

Apparently Dunc laid into the players at full time and the senior players had the nerve to blame Ancelloti's tactics .

Apparently there is more information on the Athletic website but I'm not paying those stupid prices they ask for .

I'm surprised they had the guts.

Maybe the tactics were prepared for a closer to full strength Liverpool team. Explains the mentality somewhat. Still unforgivable though and entirely on the players. We need better players.

I was actually at the game. Was Carlo to blame for all the other times these spineless cowards failed?

They’ll use any excuse to save themselves copping some deserved blame. Some of them are now onto their fourth manager at the club in 3 years.

These ‘senior players’ should never play for the club again.

Everton lose to Man City and Liverpool and the rags start with Everton players not accepting/buying into Ancelotti?

Come on. "What one positive do Everton have? The manager? OK lets target that"

The dressing room was likely a world away from Silva's 'no raised voices' and likely plenty of finger pointing but the angle of undermining Ancelotti is a complete nonsense.

Carlo been here 2 weeks and probably already knows who ain’t good enough. Your right the players have to take the responsibility because they are the ones who can only effect what’s on the pitch.First half hour we should of had the game won. That is poor finishing from players. Basic errors that’s on the players. We as fans knew after those misses that we would lose but we can only watch on and pray. The players are the ones that can actually do something. Yes Carlo maybe could of had Delph and Davies in midfield but times this season they both been just as bad. End of the day the team that played should of won and by a few goals. To lose is an embarrassment to them more than us fans.

Also on is just, just over an injury and the other is knackered.

I'm sure Ancelotti wasn't telling Sigurdsson to hide behind their midfielders or telling Walcott to boot easy passes into the crowd or telling Digne to go round kicking everyone. Horrible scum bags our players.

When you miss 3-4 easy chances in the first half the tactics aren't to blame for me, Could Ancelotti have gone long more? Yeah he could have done but he clearly wants to play a set way.
As others have said, against Chelsea Ferguson went long not to avoid the opposition midfield but ours.

Perhaps Ancelotti had a reasonable expectation that senior players especially in the midfield actually do their jobs?
As they plainly didn't show any of the required skills and attributes, then there are two options for *any* competent manager
Change the tactics to avoid those players.
Change those players.

Which one will Ancelotti chose? Which one should anyone chose?
