2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

Keane
Tosun
Sigurdsson
Schneiderlin

In that order would be brilliant.

I’ll be surprised if Keane and Sig leave, will both be on very high wages (for other teams to match) and play in positions we are short. I’m hoping he can get more out of players like them 2, Morg and Tosun will be gone I reckon. Tosun in Jan and Morg in the summer due to us being so short in DM.

I might be wrong but I think our squad is much better than what most people think. I do think we will find out how good/bad our squad is after a while under Ancelotti. For the first time in my opinion we have a top manager who will be capable of playing the team to their strengths and not let a certain style/formation dictate what the players should do. He is capable of setting up a team not only to play to each others strengths but also capable of considering its weaknesses and cover for that. That is what in my opinion separates brilliant managers from the rest.

The brilliant manager not only looks at strengths...but also considers weaknesses in the team and how to get the best out of the team collectively. Every player has their strengths AND weaknesses. If a certain tactic or formation does not suit a specific player and leans more towards a players weakness the player might look absolute abysmal. Weaknesses can at times be nullified by using other team members by using them in such a way that the real weakness of a player aren't so relevant and then the player does great. However take the same player into another team or with different players/tactics and they might look terrible.

In my opinion we now have a manager that will be able to do exactly that...playing to the teams strengths while nullifying its weaknesses as much as possible and we might just see some players surprise us quality wise.

Once again just my opinion but I am very very optimistic on what the future holds for us :)

Ambition isn't just about bringing the right players in.

It's about taking a loss, if necessary, to be able to move players out that have been identified as unsuitable, as quickly as possible.

If nobody will buy Keane at the £30m we paid, that's unsurprising. There will be buyers at £15m-£20m though and it may mean we have to give him a bigger severance than we'd like.

Parrots the lot of them.

Man Utd - 1990 - 13th (and 3 bottom half finishes in 4 seasons)
Man Utd - 1993 - Champion of England

Leeds United - 1990 - Second Tier of English Football
Leeds United - 1992 - Champions Of England

Blackburn Rovers - 1992 - Second Tier of English Football
Blackburn Rovers - 1995 - Champions Of England

Arsenal - 1995 - 12th
Arsenal - 1998 - Champions of England

Man City - 1999 - Third Tier of English Football
Man City - 2009 - Finished 10th (decade of fighting relegation)
Man City - 2012 - Champions of England

Chelsea - 1988 - Second Tier of English football
Chelsea - 1996 - 11th (and forever a mediocre club)
Chelsea - 1999 - 3rd
Chelsae - 2005 - Champions Of England

Leicester - 2015 - 15th
Leicester - 2016 - Champions of England

English football is litered with Clubs being mediocre for years only to dominate or win the league out of the blue. But the very BEST example of them all is the history of Everton.

EVERTON
1889 - 8th (out of 12 clubs)
1891 - Champions of England

1914 - 15th
1915 - Champions of England

1927 - 20th
1928 - Champions of England

1931 - Second Tier of English football
1932 - Champions of England

1938 - 14th
1939 - Champions of England

1960 - 16th
1963 - Champions of England

1966 - 11th
1970 - Champions of England

1980 - 19th
1981 - 15th
1985 - Champions Of England
1987 - Champions Of England

Everytime Everton has won the league, five seasons prior they either struggled or finished in the bottom half. Even in 1954 when they just missed out, they finished 16th the season prior.
Brilliant post, needs sharing all over the web that

Overated? Look at his CV - clubs managed - what he’s won. Of course it’s gonna be nigh on impossible to replicate that success with Everton, but he surely has more chance then Dunc, who admitted he’s not ready for the job yet.
All he have is a CV hes been a poor manager sincr bayern munih its a bad choice for us and you will see this in future. max 1 year later i will tell you i was right and you will agree with me

Finishing second in Serie A isn't half bad.

Finishing second in Serie A isn't half bad.

It used to be 10 years ago, Serie A and the Bundesliga are glorified SPL's these days, same team has won it the last 7 or 8 years.

Napoli have been 2nd or 3rd for the last 4 years so he was always going to finish around about there.

If we're going to focus on what's impressive about Carlo's CV, his time at Napoli and Bayern aren't really it.
