Probably worth mentioning Napoli have only won one football match and lost the rest since Carlo left.
Napoli is on the downward slope. They allowed Ciro Immobile to go to Lazio (he’s now the top serie A goal scorer). Worse yet they fired Ancelotti...Says a lot about the sports director.

He's a very adept in game manager. Constant tweaks of the side going on formations, direction, personnel etc. More than any manager I remember for us. Ultimately though he will need better players to maximise his in game ability. I think he will actually like Holgate for his versatility and to a degree even Davies who can play a couple of roles.

We gave 1 big chance to Brighton today, when we were visibly shattered, but the cause was Davies losing the ball cheaply high up the pitch. Tom has to get that out of his game.
If he doesn’t get that out of his game Carlo will get him out of the game.

Carlo knew what the score was when becoming manager that the club were far from anything like a finished article and had to be built up. Although the pay packet helped I believe that he did want to come to really build the team also hence the 4.5 year deal.
Imagine Carlo leading Everton out into the USM Dixie Dean Stadium at Brantley Moore Dock to a full house on a warm Wednesday night with the CL theme playing on full blast

Decent first half. Tired second half. Still it was an improvement. Keep it up Carlo. A lot of more likely goal scoring intent on Saturday. Keep this up and we might finish far better than could be expected. Oh to have had Ancelotti from the start of the season.

New manager bounce

I think Ancelotti did a deceptively good job getting them to 2nd last season. He was following on from 2 excellent managers (Benitez and Sarri) and hard to think they didn't peak really. The team now looks to be coming to the end of a cycle, lots of players heading into the late 20's and early 30's and not an awful lot of money available to replenish them. It's funny really, I get the same feeling looking at Tottenham (and I remember the same with Moyes at us at the end). I suspect having a manager of the quality of Ancelotti, with his ability to tactical manage games astutely masked a lot of wider issues.

In fairness to Ancelotti there is probably a lot of that in his career. He has followed top managers, at clubs with fantastic players but often when they were coming to the end of the cycle and he's kept the wheels ticking over as it were. He is very good at that, and I do wonder if he is the manager lots of people actually believe Mourinho to be? It's a big knee-jerk which I try to avoid, but I am not sure I would take a swap at this stage.

I think Napoli will hit a period of decline, and their owner may regret some of his antics.
