"Most players don’t need to be motivated. They need to be calmed down."

Absolutely spot on that. And that is the major difference in having capo di tutti Capi over a divvy like Ferguson. That would have been a disaster.

I didn't need to give it thought. We categorically are not, but we're starting to behave a lot more like one which is what we all want to see.

Being in the top flight for an extended period, alone, does not make anyone a big club. The number of league titles means nothing if the last thing won was 25 years ago and we haven't had back to back seasons in Europe in over 10 years.

These historical wins are still important, but to be considered a 'big club' then you must have recent success too, as that will always trump historical success.

No top players are knocking down Huddersfield, Villa, Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday's doors down over Spurs, City, Chelsea or Leicester, even though the former clubs have won far more league titles.

In any case, It's a separate issue from the main topic so I don't want to dwell on it.
Your definition of a big club is different from mine. In your opinion, how many big clubs are there and will you name them?

He has only been our Manager for a couple of days and has already made more of an effort and connected more with the supporters than all of the previous recent managers did in their entire tenures combined.

It is easy to see why everyone loves him and why he is a top tier manager.

Happy days blues.

Anyone can cherry pick stats to suit their own agenda. Here's another one for you.

Alex Ferguson took 7 years to win his first league title with Man U, so do you think he was "just above average as a league manager," too?
Alex Ferguson had won three Scottish Premier League titles, as well as a bunch of Scottish cup competitions and the Cup Winners Cup and European Super Cup before even starting with Man Utd.

He also won 13 Premier League titles. That is a hell of a lot more than Carlo. In fact at Aberdeen alone he won almost as many leagues, despite being up against the Old Firm and the great Dundee United team.

I used to think Ancelotti’s European record was better, but upon closer inspection I would say Ferguson’s 2xCup Winners Cups and two Champion's Leagues is superior on that score as well.

That’s a good point to be fair.

Well Carlo is more then good enough and Alex Ferguson isn’t even managing anymore so we got the best available

When you see Carlo Ancelotti in the home dugout, then see he’s put Gylfi Sigurdsson has captain
