There was absolutely nothing wrong with Rossiter , Beckinsale , Warrington and De La Tour - they would all improve our midfield too.
Class acts one and all. Pity about the storylines though.
Bit like Joe Mercer and half the England team guesting for Aldershot during the war

I honestly don't agree Dave, the reason he doesn't stay long at clubs is purely down to the type of Club he has been managing. He states in his book that he wanted the PSG gig to be long term, he then goes onto say that he hopes the Bayern job will be a long term gig. If given an opportunity to finally build his own team then it's here and now and I think he will see it through to the new stadium.

didn’t he say he wants to lead us into our new stadium?

Its astonishing he our manager when you see the managers appointed by Man u, arsenal and Chelsea.
Hopefully with the right investment this is a chance to overtake them

Scored two goals from corners, and looked solid at defending them. Ancelotti spent the time wisely, to try and improve us in one of our worst areas on the pitch. I'm guessing that Iwobi over Bernard was a tactical decision for this reason.

Liked his quip the other day, " A counter attack is the easiest way to score" think we only managed one in the whole game.

And hes got mina scoring ;)

Let's be realistic: Ancelotti doesn't stay anywhere these days too long.

We have him for maximum 3 years, IMO. So we better make use of his professionalism and expertise while we can.

If managers like Koeman, Alardyce and Silva have been backed to the hilt financially it makes no sense to close the purse strings when we have Ancelotti. There can be no sell to buy regime re-imposed at the club while he's here. He has to be given a minumum of £200M in the next three seasons to spend...a mix of player sales and cash invested. If that's done, I'd have high expectations of top 5/6 finish by the end of his time here.
If he spends 200 plus mill (net) and we only get 5th or 6th by the end of his spell here I'll be slightly disappointed if I'm being honest I think he's better than that, Moyes used to achieve that regularly, Martinez achieved it and Koeman walked fairly a poor squad to 7th place a mile ahead of 8th, Allardyce and Silva both got 8th and they're not a patch on Carlo, plus Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea aren't what they were and are in disarray (some more than others) and Leicester aren't much better than us. With a few decent players brought in I'm not going to lie I expect him to challenge for a Champions league place by the end of his 3rd full season here. We never got Carlo in to Finish 5th /6th.

So which is it, where does the arm on the swing-o-meter sit?

Silva was so gash almost anybody would have improved these dummies
Or
It takes an real expert like Ancelotti to improve these dummies.

And of course you have to have a 'ffs its not that hard even Dunc on toast improved these dummies' option

I think, baring the odd time he over estimated some peoples capabilities, he's doing ok for now

Wouldn't mind either if Brands was pull out a couple of gems that have the likes of Pep testing...but failing to test...Moshiri's resolve not to sell.

That may not be the case though Dave. A common theme throughout his Quiet Leadership book is one of him desperately seeking a long term project with a family club. It would not surprise me if he at least saw out the entirety of his current contract.

Outside of the Juiced up Mutants and Citeh, this league is terrible.

I watched Leicester v Chelsea yesterday and both would have been destroyed by our 08-13 teams.

There is a massive opportunity to push into at least 3rd for any club that can find a consistent formula, through good management and recruitment.
