What a difference a single result makes, hes gone from being a great tactition, everyone buzzing about 'italian' results football, to boring Italian football... The man gets a pass as long as he has to field any of these 'midfielders' we have in the centre. Nobody, will achieve anything with these players.

Nice to see him hitting the nail on the head with the midfield. He's not one like Silva or Martinez to blow smoke up their backsides when they've stunk the place out.

So been in the job 7 months, working with an average squad and sacking him is the right thing to do? Success won't happen overnight. Lets at least give him a chance or we will forever remain in transition. Yes, it's not great to watch but with a poor midfield, it's not going to be brilliant.
Quote from Roberto Martinez...

“He knows exactly what to do to adapt to what's needed.
"So far it's been an introduction to steady the football club and try to give players an opportunity to express themselves and gather a lot of information to build his team and I'm really looking forward to seeing his first full season and the shape of a team playing his football."

Same here, Roberto.

State of people questioning Ancelotti.

man has won it all and is working with probably his worst set of midfielders he’s ever had.
Yet we are still fourth for points accumulated since his arrival. We have NO QUALITY in midfield. The only decent player has been halved in ability by Son Heung Mon and the rest are absolute garbage.

Guve your heads a wobble. Be greatly we have him and have some bloody patience. Lot of you deserved Eddie Howe

Fair points, but I think the Brands thing is a tiny bit unfair - it isn't reasonable to expect every signing to be a good one. You'll always get players who don't come good, for whatever reason.

It probably belongs in the Brands thread, but if you look at his signings, there aren't many you'd label a "total" flop

Sidibe on loan - Meh, some good some very bad, but a loan makes it a pass
Zouma on loan - Worked out well at the time
Lossl - Was only ever going to be a back up keeper, hard to judge
Digne - sound
Mina - Decent
Gomes - Very inconsistent, but capable of being class
Gbamin - Hard to say anything other than we've been incredibly unlucky with his injuries
Delph - Low fee and it hasn't really worked out so far, but if he could get himself fit he walks into this midfield as things stand
Bernard - Even though he was a free, I think this is his worst signing so far given his high wages
Iwobi - Young enough to improve, but you'd have to say the signs aren't great
Kean - Very raw but there is definitely talent there which needs to be nurtured

Also worth remembering that Brands signed all of these players with Silva's system in mind. There's a few there I'd happily move on, but at the same time there's still hope for a number of them IMO

That isn't how the DoF model works

Yes. But here is how I see it, realistically, we are financially far from competing for a top four position. You have an outliner once in a while, but mostly these places are taken before the season begins. Not to mention first place. So what we're competing for is placement between 5 - 20, maybe getting far in a cup.

For the past 8 seasons, our median position has been No. 8. We are a mediocre football team. This is pretty constant, regardless of who the manager is. It also correlates quite well with our financial situation. So if we're going to go all in with catenaccio for a rank between 5 - 10, then I won't call ourselves winners. So if we are to continue with this type of football then the threshold is a top four position - which is completely unrealistic.

Why would you call us 'winners' anyway for finishing 5-10th?

Why is top 4 unrealistic?

Bit lost there...

I think that the first sentence of your post is totally wrong.
I don't think that any right minded and clear thinking fans blame Carlo one iota for the current performances .
It is all down to the players and the recruitment by the current and previous directors of football.
Just the opposite , I'd say that most fans are astonished at the results that Carlo has achieved with this group of misfit players.
The rest of your post is correct.
