Absolute tosh. We were totally dominant for 70 minutes playing attacking football. For the third time in 3 games he then changes that to a defensive set up and it cost us again. Davies on the left??? Really? Niasse at all??? Really?
If he put Gordon on when he took Bernard off we win that game it's that simple, they had no answer for our attacking play but his subs basically invited them back in to the game. Just like west ham and Brighton.

Am not too arsed about it as we played very good football for 70 minutes but if he is going to keep negating the good work by trying to see out games with sub standard players in the wrong positions then it will happen again and again.

The dynamic changes towards the end of games though. Newcastle have a clear game plan. They look to stay in games play very conservatively and then take chances towards the end.

Haters are always going to hate. We played some of the best football we have for years last night, we also had a really bad 2 minutes, but certainly not the worst I have seen for years.

Agree Niasse should not have come on, but other than that error who could he select? Kean was goosed, ran his backside off and was laboured, Sidibe was starting to be beaten regularly to the ball and so Coleman made sense, even though he's probably done anyway. Davies was his only real midfield option from the bench and Bernard ran himself into the ground.

Whoever sanctioned buying Niasse needs a good shoeing, he is really, really bad. When put through by DCL, he promptly screwed it up, I turned to my mate and said thank God we are two up, it would not have been funny if we were 0-1. How we laughed. We weren't laughing at the end. Get him gone pronto.

Blame Carlo for Niasse coming on, nothing else. Niasse turning down the championship, he'd probably fail in Scotland. :red:

THere is NOTHING dynamic about Tom Davies out of position or Niasse in any position. We WERE playing dynamic football up until then and changed it to actually SUIT newcastles game. Madness really.

Sticking Tom on the left when Gordon was on the bench (or even Baines) is also suspect.

By the way, there is absolutely no hate here, just alarm at the same thing happening for three games in a row.

Dynamic football comes at a cost though. We put a hell of lot of energy in to the first 70 minutes and Kean and Bernard aren't currently capable of maintaining the required levels of physicality for 90 minutes. We needed to make changes and it is hardly Carlo's fault that he didn't have good enough options available to him.

I would rather concentrate on the first 70 and have faith in Carlo being able to turn that into 90 minute performances in the future.

Apart from you not being arsed about, I agree with you. I can assure you the 36,000 Everton fans were very very arsed as they headed into the freezing night. I didn't need to ask anyone how they felt, it was head down lets get the fook out of here. They alone deserve an apology from Mr Bumble, not from the excellent DCL.

When I say not arsed, I mean in the bigger picture sense. I am arsed about the result but I know that there is a lot more positives than negatives to be taken from that performance. When we have a fit squad and more of carlos players it will be totally different all round.

Gordon or Baines on the left was obvious though. As for Niasse, I am sure Theo could have managed another 2 minutes plus stoppage.

But yes, agree with this:

The fans will judge on what they are paying to see. This is all very repetitive I know, but they were really entertained for 70 minutes until the big man pulled the rug from under us. Players come and go and hopefully plenty will go this close season, even on frees. Carlo is going nowhere but needs to swallow his ego and take the paying fans with him. They will respond.
