A major achievement winning at a ground a lot of teams have?

Ancelotti really doesn’t have to do much for that £12m p/a to keep the happy clappers on board, does he? lol
Yes a major major achievement for Everton. No matter what way you paint It. Its unfortunate. But that's how it is. And worth the 12 alone yes.

Thanks carlo.

But he's done more than that.

problem is when you give a manager alot of money to spend the expected result is some form of success hence why koeman and silva were ultimately given the chop

if we give ancelotti 100 + mil in the summer to sign some more players and by February 2022 we are lounging near the relegation zone with defeats at home to norwich and fulham then what do you do?

Odd way of looking at it.

I think its a reasonable point that the players we have bought in since he rocked up have been very good. Repeat that this summer, and unless they all fall in the Mersey, reckon battling relegation in Feb 2022 is extremely unlikely.

Give Carlo a 5 year contract and let it run unless he gets us relegated.

Cant do much worse than the last 30+ years of chopping and changing and winning nothing.

Or we could just keep on repeating the same mistakes we've made over and over again.

When his first choice 11 is playing we've mainly played well through the season so let him build on that over a few years. He knows the styles he wants to play so let him build a squad that can consistently deliver that.
So we can only expect him to do well if he has a fully fit Xl playing at all times? Got ya...

No I'm saying give him the time to build a squad capable of consistently playing well, not just a fully fit first choice XI

We all know we are carrying too many players who aren't up to it and getting rid of them to make space available will take a few years (probably)

Can't make my mind up over Carlo. But any home side that Crystal Palace have the majority of possession against must have cause for worry.

Every manager has to deal with injuries.

Not being in a relegation battle is not the barometer of success with Everton.

Yeah I know.

You dont rate him, fine. Its an opinion. Me? I dont think the latter part of this season has been that great, at all. But if you cant see the accounting gymnastics going on in the background, to back him, and want to place your opinion on essentially, a handful of games, carry on.

I fully expect a really really good team within 18 months, maybe earlier.

Two more summer windows to really change things I think. The squad was in dire shape last season. We’ve got fourteen players to move on this summer. FOURTEEN! That’s the scale of the pit we’ve been in.
Takes time to correct.

Does someone who says he wants Ancelotti sacked if we don't make Europe sound like a joker to you?

Maybe they need to be reminded that till he arrived we needed Duncan Ferguson literally forcing them to run like Dennis Straq in order to get away from relegation..... That the players he took over were literally taking the club down.......

That's not an exaggeration - the players who are supposedly good enough for Brendan Rogers to take us into Europe were taking us down.

Somehow we managed to aquire a manager who is footballing royalty - who in turn enabled us to get James, Allan and Doucoure..... I don't think they sign for Brendan Rodgers.

He's attracting better quality players. He's barely had the opportunity to do anything in the transfer market due to covid. He's got loads of dead wood that needs clearing, it takes time. What do people knocking him seriously expect? Get another manager in and start the whole process again? Why on earth would that be better? We've improved under him

For the record - I don't think it's fair to pick on people who have alternate views. I think Everton fans in general need to question and demand the best - we were stuck with Moyes and a cheerleader/superfan for a chairman whilst the RS got rid of a club legend for winning a trophy but finishing 7th.

I just think in these occasions we need to balance "could maybe do better" with the excessive "Europe or sack".

We have an awful sub culture of mercenaries past and present who have made our players soft, unprofessional and ambitionless... Delph, Walcott, Morgan, Niasse, Gylfi, Gomes, Pickford, Tosun... Imagine being at Finch farm? I'd actually celebrate if a report broke out that Godfrey was reported to have given Delph a full blooded knee jolter and stood over him and said "now you know what an injury is"..... That's the sort of crap that needs to happen,
