Every manager has to deal with injuries.

Not being in a relegation battle is not the barometer of success with Everton.
I'm fairly sure there was just a subtle hint of sarcasm in that reply!

I have lurked around this thread since your recent resurface just to watch it develop and my god you are nothing if not persistent but being persistent has literally got you nowhere, it's surely time to wind it down a bit and just move on, at least until next season shows us where we are? Then maybe you will have garnered some "backing" for your constant derision of Carlo, however I very much don't see that happening.

Who is to say we don't finish this season as we started it, after all.

COYB

TOFFEE FOREVER

dont understand where this inhered an awful team comes from

we finished 7th under Koeman, 8th under Allardyce, 8th under Silva and 12th under Ancelotti

when ancelotti took over we had just beaten chelsea 3-1 and drawn at old trafford 1-1 , we also almost made it to a semi final of a cup competition but got knocked out on pens by Leicester

we were 15th in the table and finished 12th an improvement of 3 places

he practically had the same players at his disposal that beat man utd 4-0

on paper the squad we had was a very good one

You seriously believe Carlo inherited a very good squad?! We have spent the last 2 transfer windows desperately trying to get as many of these wasters out of the club to the extent where we now have barely any cover to the first 11.
In what world are the likes of Delph, Tosun, Iwobi, Walcott, Bernard, Davies, Gomes, etc classed as ‘very good’. They all stunk the gaff out from the day they joined.

The squad is full of international players who we paid a lot of money for. All those players you’ve mentioned were signed from clubs competing in Europe on a regular basis every season. We wouldnt have paid such huge sums of money for absolute crap. Delph was still getting games for one of the best prem teams ever and was a title winner. Gomes first season everyone was raving about him calling him the best midfielder in the league. Iwobi, Tosun and Walcott all had great starts to their Everton career. Walcott has shown this season how good he can be with hos performances at Southampton. Bernard scored the winner against spurs in the fa cup quarter final and against Man Utd this season. It’s a shame with Bernard that he has had issues with mental health but he’s a classy player. Wasn’t he also involved in the winner against Sheffield United! That goal against West Ham I still have no idea how he scored from that angle.

Dude, we really really would and have.

Unfortunately, Steve Walsh,Koeman, Allardyce and Silva heard or somehow believed all the nonsense about how talented these players were and awe spent a fortune in fees and wages to sign them and now because they are rubbish Brands is left with the job of getting rid of them and we can't even get rid of most for nothing.
In addition to the players mentioned by yo we can add Bolasie and Sandro.

It can be argued any way you like but anybody who watched the signings named above know full well they are not good enough for EFF and really not even good enough to facilitate getting rid of them.

From that Time...pre Brands... I think Keane, Pickford have established themselves as good playerservice.

We have...

Delph was gladly sold by City who made him available...you know hes always injured right?

Gomes -- not everyone was 'raving' about him. What are you on about lol i didnt even want us to sign him

Iwobi + Tosun = Great starts to everton careers? lol what ???

Bernard a classy player

Walcott had a good start but as i said at the time he was a stupid signing who would last 6-18months tops.

Youve had a nightmare here mate...

I imagine he's finding it hard to shake the constant criticism from @GwladysBlue

It must take its toll, which is unfortunate as we head into a crucial part of the season and our push for 4th.
Yeah, he most definitely will not be enjoying the home form. I think this may have been a wake up call for him this season showing the drop off in quality from the players he has previously managed. I think he will seek to put that right, well I hope anyway.

While our home form is very poor (so are plenty of other teams) and we've had some frustrating losses (again so have others) it's obvious to me that we are progressing and improving.

We will have more deadwood shifted in the summer, some more progression from our younger players and another window for Ancelloti to bring his own players in.

The quality of player will improve, I have no doubt in my mind. this is why it is foolish not too want Carlo here long term. He will get us a competitive football team of that I am convinced and willing to put up with this rubbish due to that fact.
