Its not the total end of the world conceding 2 goals a game and getting points
But it needs addressing
It is bad however conceding 2 and getting tonked every week
This deffo needs addressing

Carlo said it was basic KITAP1...Unless we give them a gift - thanks Gomes
So,
On reflection Ancelotti set it up ok, could've been better maybe with Gordon...but that's just opinions
He was let down by the inactions of the some of included deadwood
And by the actions of one soon to be deadwood Gomes...who is an accident waiting to happen every tackle

While reading the match thread both here and on r/Everton I was thinking to myself do you people really believe that Everton have a half decent squad bar first XI? You work with what you have. Specially when half of the players in the squad are the ones Brands couldn't sell off during the summer.

For me, it was quite enjoyable to watch the 0-0 and thought that was the perfect and most realistic result for Everton to get with half of the squad missing.

Unfortunately, Gomes turned off his head and a penalty happened out of nowhere. Until that pen, Newcastle barely crossed the center of the park and the game was in cruise control.

Why ?
Poor squad depth
Load of rubbish hanging around
Coleman ,Digne ,Ricarlison ,Holgate ,James all missing
Take 5 first choice players out of any PL side and they will struggle
We struggle more than the sky 6 because we lack depth

Take mane and salah out of liverpool
Take son and kane out of spurs....
Same with a few others. They become pretty toothless.
We all knew it. Lose our key players and we're in trouble.
Some of the comments now are unreal. But predictable. I read on here someone saying other managers have improved players when went in. Calvert lewin is the leagues top scorer. Whats that then? But he has clearly improved with our strongest line up supplying him.
The only real battering ram some are using for yesterday is Gordon. Yeah id like to see him involved more but he is not the difference between losing 4 key players right now. The poor quality back up is.
It will take time to sort that. Best thing for us is we get those missing back and pray we get lucky until we can start bringing in more reliable players.

CA has improved our first team to the point that most of our back up was our first team, unfortunately our first team was that pants that even as backup they are not up to standard. Can't really blame the manager for that, it's the result of his predecessors.

All he can do is fix the problems in the first team, then work on the squad, and since until yesterday we were top of the league, I would say he's done that pretty well so far.

Liverpool and Spurs still beat that newcastle team with the players referenced above

Not that we need to keep it, but saying 'the club has seen draws at places like Newcastle as fine so i'm not really concerned that we lost' just perpetuats the same attitude. If you want the attitude to change then you need to be part of the change. If you say 'ah well it'll take ages to change we might as well just play 19 central midfielders in all our away games until then' then how does that change occur? Surely if it's going to take years then everybody should have been given years to change it? Did you want Koeman to stay for years to see if he had that effect? Or Silva? Why is it that some things have to change immediately but others can be written off?

I'm playing devil's advocate here because I think the whole putting everything down to mentality thing is complete codswallop, but I don't understand how somebody who actually believes in it can think that attitude makes sense. It just doesn't.

if a cruise ship is heading in one direction very quickly, it takes a while to turn it around and get it going the other way. I’m not happy we lost, I didn’t want us to, I’d expect us to win, but some of the reaction to the loss and to Carlo in particular is in my opinion over the top. I’d love it if he had come in and within a few months we’d gone from a bottom half team to challenging for the title. Realistically though it might take longer, Carlo will make mistakes on the way also as he did yesterday.

Squad is poor. First 11 when fit is decent.

reality bites.

needed a new right back and they didn’t deliver. Should have replaced Kean and they didn’t.

Bernard, Gomes and iwobi are pure pretenders. Deliver nothing. No goals no assists just ghost impressions whilst picking up big wages.

I get the point, but I don't think we can just say 'well he had Simms on the bench'.

The lad should not be having to be called on at this stage in a season when the club themselves have briefed they don't see him as being ready.

I'd have no issue with him playing if needs be but there seems to be a real push from fans when really it's the last thing that's needed right now.

I get what you're saying but people at the club are also saying he's a natural finisher aswell, people could also argue that players aren't good enough to start yet they are starting. It's a double sided coin really it could work it could not. But we was crying out for someone to attack when noone was. On Davies first start for the club he registered an assist as a CM. Surely it's not that far of a stretch for a untested ST to contribute something to a match? I know tosun only just came back from serious injury but what did he contribute?

I agree we were always going to struggle but, even so, it was overly cautious. I don't like to see that. Five central midfielders against a very average Newcastle team. It was a gameplan that was never going to see us take the game to them, and it didn't work.
We wold have been committing suicide taking the game to them
Two inexperienced PL FBs was leaving us wide open
The plan was for JJK and Neils to be FBs when we were defending and when we attacked JJK and Neils would attack high up the pitch and Delph and Doucoure to cover
Silly penalty and a deflected goal off a breakaway done us

I assume you have esk level knowledge of the club accounts and the money we have to spend on wages and fees
I am sure if money was able to to spent it would have been
Not available to spend to able to spend with STCC and FPP Restrictions

That is very true but might have been better than Siggy or Bernard in supporting DCL
