Exactly. I cant believe he left mbappe haland and all the rest of our great attacking options getting splinters in their arse on the bench.

I completely agree with you that we need better players, but so does every club in the league, even Man City could improve a position or two. We had to win today, had to, and we didn't show any desire to do so. We played 5 defenders for the vast majority of the game and even when we took one off, we didn't even change the system, we just carried on doing the same thing.

You are missing my point.
Having to rely on players like gomes Is the problem. We play 5 at the back because we don't have any players playing wide who are up to standard.

Brands better on the blower now then to get them in if having players of that calibre is the only way of beating Aston Villa...
 

If we win Saturday night we go into worst place 7th but could be 6th or even joint 5th depending on other results.
The premier league must be shockingly bad this season.

edit: forget that load of bollocks, just realised we play Sunday after everybody else lol

He didn't need to play 5 defenders. Make whatever excuse you want to, but he didn't. He could have played Gomes or Davies or in a midfield 3 with Allan and Doucoure and a flat back four would be one simple suggestion.
