We need players like Grealish, Mount or Foden who can carry the ball and make a pass and who are up to the physical demands of the PL. Obviously not suggesting we’ll be signing any of them but that sort of player would be ideal.

A lot of the guff are out of contract this Summer and Next Summer. As you say mate, get 4 more quality players in this Summer, similar to last and build from there.

He was also scathing after the 3-0 defeat to Wolves last season when we had nothing left to play for.
This last three or four months will have confirmed for all decision makers at Everton that players who we thought might still have a future at an upwardly-mobile club just don't. It's clarified our summer perfectly. The Holgates, Iwobis, Delphs, and Gomes's must be history come August.
4 good players in the right positions and our first XI should be pretty good. If we can get people to unlock the potential in James, DCL and Richarlison then that would be a game changer.

He's got no option. Defend them and he draws the blame, like Martinez. Besides, there's only 2 games left and the target of getting European football is all but over. He can be more honest now.
I just wish one of the journos would've asked him if the players would have to use these last 2 games to play for their future at the club.
Uh oh if we play even worse football next season because he gives up on our players trying to pass it.
