I'll believe there's something to this when we start seeing departures.
There have been opportunities for Sigurdsson and Bernard (twice) to leave in the last twelve months, and Keane has signed an extension. He knows that these players aren't even Europa League standard, yet seems in no rush to raise the minimum requirements for being here.
But Davies has played in our games where our midfield hasn’t been torn to shreds, hasn’t he? And Allan and Doucoure have both looked better with him in there, because they can do what they’re good at (which isn’t sitting in the middle getting the ball off the defence or trying to win fouls).
It’s about balance.
