We have a team full of spineless slugs who can only pass backwards and people calling out Carlo!
Problem is, I dont see Carlo as the right nan to get our lot working, he is atop 4 manager, who can work best with a quality squad. It's a odd fit.
If Brands can transform us in the summer next season could be great with Carlo, but right now we cant really say he has done a food job, 10th a grim.

Tonight's European show piece showed how far Carlo is behind the curve.

Carlo basically had no idea against City. Tuchel has won three out of three against Guardiola.

Chelsea were tactically excellent. Pressed high up the pitch, refused to give City an inch but carried a threat throughout the game. It was modern football at its best. Carlo is still playing the same way as he played at Milan 20 years ago.

no difference in the quality of squad of course. None whatsoever.

I didnt think anything could top your posts in the Usmanov thread.

But this is pretty close.

Give it a rest. Let's see what happens when we get a few more functioning players first. How do you come to the conclusion he plays the same way when he's tried about 5 different formations this season?

It would be hard for you to be more incorrect. ...imo.

In fact, the season just gone,if anything, has shown just how creative Carlo is in team selection and formation.

The clearest example was the set up of the team and his use of Coleman in the Derby win against Liverpool, it was totally innovative , but there were many more during the season.

Carlo was hampered by not having an option wide on the right and spent the season trying to deal with that with varying degrees of success. Carlo also had injuries to James,DCL,Allan,Doucoure and Diane to deal with during the season without having the luxury, as Pep does, of having a more than adequate replacement to step in.

Last night highlighted to me that with the right players Carlo can compete with the City's and Chelsea's of this world
Last night showed to me also that with Pep there are limitations to his managerial ability but the array of talent at his disposal can mask his shortcomings. A brilliant manager still obviously

Is right. In fact i thought the only thing missing from that game last night was Tom Davies spraying it around in midfield.

Go through the squads man for man then comeback and tell me we are even on the same planet as Chelsea.

Functioning players - nail on the head.

The squad still needs so much work, it’s impossible to judge. For large parts of the season, the team was made up of whoever was fit enough to play, not what shape we wanted.

I fully agree. We are going nowhere but relegation under this dying regime.

Do you think we should be breaking the bank to pay off Carlo and hire an innovator? Be a bit of coup if we could snaffle one of Conte, Pochettino, Klopp, Tuchel, Guardiola or Potter.

The good times would soon roll. Oh yes indeed.

We don’t need to get our lot working. Most of them are unable to play football at a top 6 level. They need to be moved on and better plyers brought in. Carlo might be just the man for that job.

That would really work well wouldn`t it, with a midfield that`s more suited to playing walking football.

Kante alone, puts more of a shift in than our whole midfield.

Before looking at Carlo, I think you have to look at the squads.

Do you honestly think our squad is capable of playing like Chelsea?

Do you honestly think we had the depth and quality to match those two teams?

Or maybe because Chelsea have much better players and a star studded squad.
