I love how you put "the reality" insinuating that both were better. When both failed to get as many points. 49 and 54 is not better than 59. Lesser squads? 80% is the same squad.
We get the i dont like ancelotti thing. But you need to cut the spin. I mean who is your target audience. People with 6 months amnesia? We do actualy remember silva and allardyce you know. We remember sitting in the relegation zone when he was sacked. I just dont know who you're trying to kid.

This 59 points is becoming the new "72 points doh m8" when it comes to claiming El Loco was a brilliant manager for us lol

And yes weaker squads - Fat Sam had kin Ashley Williams, Cuco Martina, Rooney, Klassan and Niasse/Toshun not DCL, Digne, Mina, James Rodriguez, Richarlison and Allan/Doucoure.

I like Carlo and a defection to the Bernebau wouldn’t suprise me...and, at the risk of being blasted for evermore, the return of Bobby Martinez would certainly make the forthcoming season interesting

If he goes then we have a decent sales pitch to the next incumbent- you don’t even have to do well managing us to get a gig at either Barca or Madrid!
If he goes, the sales pitch is this...

Wanted: A young up and coming manager with decades of experience in all of the top leagues. We are looking for someone with fresh new ideas that nobody has ever seen before, but must also have traditional values in line with 1 of the longest serving and traditional clubs in the World. He must have a clear philosophy on how football should be played, but also be flexible enough to change those ideas at the exact right time, or on a whim. Essentially, style comes 1st, but not at the expense of results, which is of the utmost importance.

We want a real man manager, a personable man, who has a close personal relationship with the players and an affinity with the fans and the city, and always has an air of positivity that is infectious and helps Foster an atmosphere of spirit and camaraderie, yet outwardly, and perhaps a little inwardly, he should also have the appearance of a strict disciplinarian so as not to appear too soft. Falling out with players is both essential and frowned upon.

No previous trophy winning experience is required, but it is a must that they proven they can win trophies, to help underscore the ambition of the club.

A previous knowledge and relationship with the club is welcomed, so anyone who has played for or managed the club in the past will be instantly taken to heart by a section of the supporters, but equally, this will obviously alienate another huge faction of the fan base, so this is neither important or unimportant. All nationalities are discriminated against equally.

Finally, you will have lots of money to spend, or none at all, depending on the week, but spending whatever amount you do have wisely is important. We have a DOF that you will either work closely with, or not, depending on who has tweeted in the last few hours, and failed or successful transfers will be attributed to you or used against you with prejudice.

Whoever the successful applicant is, we are looking forward to long and successful relationship that should last no longer than 18 months tops.

We look forward to hearing from all applicants, and we wish everyone the best of luck. You will need it.

Bit harsh listing Rooney with that lot, even if his legs had gone.

If he leaves then it’s another year and a half wasted. Rodriguez would likely want out too, and then we are back to square one.

The mood around the Real Madrid fanbase is somber this week after Zinedine Zidane’s heartfelt letter in AS. After stepping down as the club’s manager, the legendary midfielder and coach penned an important piece about the state of the club and the lack of backing he felt from above. Florentino Perez and the club failed to have Zidane’s back as a human being, and that hurt him.

Now, Real Madrid have to find his replacement and understand that they must go forward with a better means of supporting their manager. And although the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Raul, and Antonio Conte have been linked, they could go in the direction of another former manager who is beloved by players and fans.

According to a report from El Larguero, “Don” Carlo Ancelotti has joined the list of possible managers for Real Madrid. He is the latest name circulating as a possible Zidane replacement, and he is perhaps the most exciting from the perspective of the fans.

Although Ancelotti left the club in 2015, he will always be remembered as the man who won La Decima. He was admired and respected by Real Madrid fans and the dressing room alike, and he has done a nice job with Everton in the Premier League this season.

Carlo Ancelotti could be a top candidate for Real Madrid, depending on the situations of Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino

Ancelotti could make sense for Real. He knows how to show faith in players, he knows the stress of the job, and he is a man of high class who can lead the club through a transition period. There are some weaknesses, as he may not have the new ideas of Raul or the Revolutionary spirit of an Antonio Conte. But there’s a lot to like about Ancelotti.

Of course, we wrote that Real Madrid must be careful about nostalgia in their transfer decisions, and it is fair for a critical eye to note that Ancelotti’s return would have more than an air of nostalgia to it. And after all, the club was better off with Zinedine Zidane, though Ancelotti was certainly better than his immediate successor, Rafael Benitez.

Still, if Conte is not of interest to Perez due to the character clash and Pochettino is impossible to hire due to his PSG contract, Ancelotti may become the best external candidate for Los Blancos. Raul, to me, should be a high option, but Perez may not feel he is ready yet. After all, Zidane had more experience closer to the first team before he took on the manager job.
