2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

We haven't really played well all season, even when we were winning. What is really disappointing is that we have completely lost the ability to defend and Ancelotti must take responsibility for this. The idea that we have a world class manager and therefore he cannot be questioned is preposterous. He can't be happy with the way we are playing and we as fans shouldn't be happy either.
The difference is that Carlo is paid an awful lot of money to do something about it.

Not difficult this mate.

Do Southampton, Newcastle or Leeds have anything comparable to James, Richarlison, Digne, Allan, DCL (on current form)?

No.

Therefore we should be doing better than zero points.
They have an actual team. We have a group of players. There's a difference and it shows every time we play. Half of the team don't belong at this club and don't care about it. With attitudes like that it doesn't matter who our good players are. The rats will always drag them down.

Both of them are far more likely to stay here under a manager like Anchelotti getting full backing to build something then they would under a newly appointed flavour of the mouth no-mark manager who would also no doubt be hounded out within six to eight mouths.

“Full backing”? The Mosh has been chucking money at the squad like a drunk at a party.
Ancelotti can’t stop a player with ambition though. What would you rather? Play in the CL or lose to Leeds at home?

They are right to expect more but if they've watched us at all in recent years then they should know that it was highly likely that we'd get 0 points from Leeds, Southampton and Newcastle because this is what we've been for years. Its hardly new. Of course its dreadful, its more of the same garbage we've put up with season after season. The point is that if we ever want it to be better then we have to actually build something approaching a good team that won't let bad runs like this happen and if we want a team that won't let runs like this happen we have to wait and let it take shape under the manager because it won't happen after one single transfer summer window.

Well no, it wasn’t really.

That’d hold weight if we’d been beaten by teams with better squads.

Southampton, Newcastle and Leeds do not have a better squad than us.
But they are better managed within the confines of the manager.

We had no right to be as consistent under Moyes as we were but his team playing his way carried more weight than a bunch of different players being asked to play differently seemingly every year.

As good as those teams are also, it plays off our limitations. Say for example , take Davies , siggurdson , Delph, mina , Coleman , tosun , iwobi and Bernard out of Everton and replace them with hand picked players of ancelottis choosing. Do you still think we lose those games?

We have a squad that is largely the reason why we sacked managers before them. Ancelotti can only work with what he has so if fans are so quick to criticise the quality of those players mentioned, how do you expect a manager to form them into a consistent team?

It's a long term project we are in the short term of. In 2 years this side will he far better and far more consistent than we currently are. We will have potentially a 20 goal a season striker , a top class wide player in Richy , boss left back and two great English centre halves if holgate and Godfrey develop.

I find the positive in the negatives thus far this season and yes yesterday was bad by all accounts. Not because Leeds beat us but because it was a game we should have been winning. But 12 months from now, I don't see this a game we do anything other than win once ancelotti forms more of his team in his image / tactics etc.

Throwing money at short a term fix isn't the same as backing a manager. They can go hand in hand but one doesn't necessarily equal the other. Mosh has played his part in our being horribly mismanaged since he got involved with the club. I have no doubt that he wants what's best for the club but splashing out a load of dough before panicking and sacking his latest expensive manager/mistake is far from helpful.

If they leave then they leave. There's no point crying over spilt, I'm just saying that they'll be far more likely to want to leave if they're dealing with the new manager every six mouths and that they'd be more inclined to stay working under a manager like Anchelotti if they knew that he wasn't going anywhere and he was really building something.

We have to think why he is here, its because he's a manager that can do it, we have this season and next to do it qith the top quality players or the time is up for Carlo in my opinion

I do think we will get Europa League and that will be massive for us

Wow! If we are waiting for Godfrey to develop into a great player then it could be a very long wait.

It was to anyone who watches us regularly. If you've just discovered Everton this season or last then yes, I'd imagine it came as quite the shock.

ZERO points? You expected literally nothing from those three fixtures? Not even a draw? I haven’t discovered Everton in the last two years and I’m very disappointed we lost those three fixtures. If those results happened under any other manager there’d be uproar.

Money has absolutely nothing to do with it. We could pay a billion a month. It doesnt change the fact that anybody. ANYBODY, coming into Everton last year wasnt going to have everything run smooth.
Dont see anybody saying he cant be questioned. But the bigger picture is this job has to have time to turn it.
The vast majority of the squad are still what he walked into. We've watched them for the past 3/4 years and know so many are gutless frauds.
Take more than a year to move them on.

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy really. Carlo is throwing bad players and lineups onto the field to prove a point instead of going with the unknown and giving youth a fair chance. This is unsustainable and will end like it always does.

Is he? If so, why? We are a year into his tenure, why isn’t he trying to get results?
