Been lots for him to consider over the last few weeks. Still like to think that he's been experimenting with the squad recently and it's, for the most part, not coming off.

We’re in the quarter final of the league cup and in mid table. Don’t be so dramatic, nothing has been written off yet. There’s just the shocking revelation that a group of players who have been inconsistent for 4 seasons are still inconsistent when you only add 4 players to the group.

Lad have you been in a coma the last 5 years?

We start off ok, few nicey nice wins here and there, Derby comes everyone thinks we'll turn them over - we draw/lose then form drops off the cliff - we go about 12th/13th with nothing to play for then we win a few go upto about 8th/9th - fans convince themselves we'll sneak into the European spots then blammo some bottom half outfit snots us away from home and we finish anywhere from 8th to around 11th/12th.

The seasons done now ever if we beat Chelsea or Leicester we'll roll over and get our tummies ticked by the worst Arsenal side in decades same as we did against Utd as we are garbage.

After 25 years of failure you can GTF with your positive outlook this club has a loser mentality and only certain types of managers can change that and Carlo as great a manager he has been over the years isnt that in his 60's.

He got it wrong today. He has got it wrong in the last few weeks.

Hands are tied to an extent but recently his tactics / gameplans and then action within matches haven't been good enough.

He seems to be going to extraordinary lengths not to pick the players (either in the XI or squad) that are actually the ones suited to their role/roles, purely because they are young.

That needs to change.

However, we can say all that and still know that he's probably the best person for the job.

The recruitment again has been lacking in blatantly obvious areas and it shows, but that isn't on him.

I am happy to blame him for the tactics and changes. At the moment all the negatives are coming together and the injuries are compounding the issue.

Can we?

This isn’t the same type of challenge as a Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. We need rebuilding completely.

For whatever reason he wants to play a 3-4-3. Hopefully these last few games and especially today it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt it’s doesn’t work for us. We were dreadful the first 30 minutes.

however, for 4-3-3 to work for us we really need Gomes to play well like he did today. When he’s awful, then we look awful. But I thought when he came on he was up for it

Mate surely you have to accept though that we just can't keep hiring and firing managers? it's been a perpetual cycle and clearly isn't working long term. Let's at least give a world renowned manager the term of his contract to at least see what he can do in that time? it's not like we're getting relegated any time soon.. so what's the rush to punt him?

You have to remember that this isn't a normal season and we're still 3-4 games behind. It's why a win today would have taken us to fourth.

Carlo's not going anywhere, so find a better way to construct your criticism mate. You raise some fair points, but make yourself look a divvy when you're saying stuff like everything is a write off.

You may well be correct, we'll see, but Ancelotti isn't getting sacked. Last few games he's been far from good enough and that needs to change. It's all stemmed from a tosh ending to the window and we have our uber-relaxed DoF to thank for that. However, since then Carlo's tactics haven't helped us cope with lack of options/injuries/suspensions.

If he goes, say bye bye to Digne, Rodriguez, Richy, and Dom.
Who would you want as manager?

If Everton did exactly what those shouting loudest on this forum wanted I’d dread to think of the 11 we’d have out.

Chris Wilder would be managing a team with Ings and Callum Wilson upfront, DCL wouldn’t even be in the squad, Sigurdsson would still be getting serious game time and we’d be begging PSG for Gueye back.

This isn’t the same type of challenge as a Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. We need rebuilding completely.

Who would you rather have to do that than him?

Because if we fire Ancelotti after a year, because we're 7/8th, then no top-class manager is going to look at us.

And we've tried the young, 'style over substance' manager approach already.

I wonder when it will click in the mans head that Sigurdsson and Tosun are pure trash and that he’s probably better off playing with 10 men or trying a few of the Everton U10s.

Be arsed with anything that divvy has got to say. He’d still be backing Koeman to look all high and mighty.

Had him on ignore for a good few months now. It was a brilliant decision.

Talks a good game online but wouldnt say boo to a goose at the ground or out and about lol

why don’t you quote me in ye little ferrets. Get oiled up and roll round together on ye MMA mats ye pair of quegs
