I know Arsenal are not doing so well lately but he still looks top class, in my opinion. Hojbjerg got man of the match yesterday too, I think.
The gooners that i know down here say that he is ok and looks a decent prospect but that he seems to struggle with concentration and they reckon it will take time for him to get used to the pace of the PL, he is to easy to go by at the moment.

Klopp came in and you could see improvement. I don’t see any improvement and I don’t think anyone can claim there has been.
That's awfully revisionist.

He hardly got off to a fantastic start and had them in 8th at the end of his first season. Then the yanks opened the cheque book and Salah and Mane kicked them on before they starter dropping 70 million each on multiple players to improve their first team.

Hard to argue he didn’t improve them straight away tbh. Took over midway through that season and in his first full season they finished in the top 4, haven’t took a backwards step since.

He came in during October 2015 and had 3/4ths of a season with them and finished in 8th with a squad that had finished 6th the year before.

I remember not being too impressed at all with Klopp for the first few years. Once he was allowed to start breaking transfer records on individual players they kicked on.

I think it’s a bit disingenuous to say he didn’t improve them for 3 years. There has been a clear steady improvement each year since we went there, we have to just be honest with ourselves.

The first year he didn't improve them, the second year was far better but they still only managed 4th by 1 point above an Arsenal that was free-falling under Wenger. Knocked out of the cups by Southampton and Wolves and dumped out of the Europa that year too. Once Mane and then Salah came in and their long ball to the pacy winger tactics took shape they kicked on.

It wasn't an overnight thing and it took Klopp two very good transfer windows to build the team to play the way he wanted. @GwladysBlue making out like Klopp walked in and made them title contenders from day 1 and then using that as a stick to beat Ancelotti with is a bit of a joke imo.

That first year there were many kopites that were not convinced he was a step up on Brenda. A lot of things went their way during the early Klopp period, the declines of Arsenal, Utd, Tottenham, and Chelsea, the ridiculous fee they got for Coutinho, etc.

He's a good manager and has definitely improved them but it still took time and that is what we need to give to Ancelotti.

He wanted Magalhaes. We got Godfrey.
He wanted Hojbjerg. We got Doucoure.

Time will tell just how big the gap in quality is between them.

How people still want Brands to be in a job I'll never know.

Out of his depth particularly with that Gabriel deal - refuses to pay £25 million for him in a pandemic then goes and spends £25 million on a lesser player in the same pandemic...
