Most games we do. We just wing it, it doesn’t actually look like we work on passing moves at all. We mainly defend deep and hope to scab a set piece goal or wait for the opposition to make mistakes like Spurs did.

You can’t score five against Spurs if you have no idea how to attack. That’s reaching a bit mate.

I’ve never seen a side play so many sideways and backwards passes and still mess up passes under no pressure

We’re a side so dependent on confidence sits ridiculous. If we’re in the right system and start well we can look great. If one thing is not quite right then players start making errors you wouldn’t see on a Sunday league field. Absolutely bizarre.

I can’t disagree with this.
Offensively we must be one of the most incompetent, predictable and dull sides in the league.
The very deep defending too, is it really necessary?

We invite so much pressure on to the back 4.
How many games has it taken half an hour to get going?
We scored against Leicester from their mistake.
Spurs let us back in by trying to play it out at the back.
Leeds battered us for long spells at their place.
The only competent performance I can think of since December was Wolves away.

Glad you have done that.
A lot of people seem to have developed amnesia about the games last season.

It’s embarrassing watching us set up to play on the counter against woeful teams at home.

Are you telling me those 3 first half goals didn’t all come directly from Spurs mistakes?

Every goal comes from the opposition giving you the ball at some point. We pressed high for the first one, forced them into the error and then played a few passes to put DCL through. If that sort of goal isn’t allowed anymore then we may as well write off most of Liverpool and Leed’s goals this season. The second goal, we won back in midfield then DCL assisted Richarlison with a great finish. The third one we sprung Siggurdson free who drew the penalty with a ball into the box. Is this not attacking?

You know I'm a big fan of Ancelotti, and a lot of what he does makes a lot of sense. But him rotating players for easy home games, and moving away from the 4 cb's that have served us so well has been a mistake.

We should have gone strong Fulham and then heavily rotate for City. It's a bonus game.

I don’t see relying on opposition errors and set pieces to score goals as sustainable. Every team we play seems to be able to build an attack from the back, but we don’t. We just play off the cuff, I couldn’t tell you what our style of play is. Sooner or later our set piece goals will dry up, and we’ll be where we deserve to be in the table. We are not a good footballing side at all.

The thing is, we should embrace where we are currently. An average team, who can get excellent results by being very solid. There's absolutely nothing wrong with relying on set pieces for goals either, and the odd moment magic in games, then relying on mistakes. If you are conceding 2/3/4 goals a game though, you will have no chance.

We played well in attack on Wednesday

We were appalling in attack yesterday

We are enormously inconsistent more than anything. And a lot of it comes back to us not playing anywhere near our strongest team yesterday. We are not good enough to take our eye off the ball and prioritise a future match.
