Getting it wrong, is NOT a fact. Its people's opinions.

The players as a group, did not perform well....and Fulham did.

Not sure what Carlo could have done to change that, its not like he asked them all to play poor....look tired, and "make mistakes please lads".
He said before the game we had to control the midfield, that never happens with the team he sent out and sitting on your own 18 yard box.

Oh I know mate, we should have picked all those really fast and powerfull midfielders we have.....Carlo OUT, angry fans on the internet IN.

Again, who’s said this? Stop being a tit mate.

He could’ve played a winger or a striker. He certainly should’ve changed it at half time when it was clear we were getting bummed, whether you disagree with the starting line up or not.

We won't get a better manager than Carlo, suck it up and see where it takes us, he's having as much of a culture shock as anyone, he has never managed players who are happy being mid table fodder before. he is used to players who want to win and will do so by taking it upon themselves to train and be the best, I'm not sure we have anyone like that, He really needs a different breed of player.

I honestly can't see anything changing with regards to winning stuff until the whole league has a paradigm with regards wages and money because 99% of players now don't care about trophies because their bank accounts have so many 00000's they don't care.

If honest my expectations of Carlo are pretty low, not because he isn’t a good manager. It is more about the task he has been handed on and off the pitch.
On the pitch we can all see we are still a way off in winning the Prem and consistently getting into the CL
Off the pitch the mentality around the club and the supporters is simply, we are never going to be good enough
Them two factors makes Carlos job a massively difficult one, and one that takes time

if he can get us to a position of having a team to challenge, and a positive attitude all round. I think he will of done a outstanding job.

most probably one of the toughest jobs he has ever undertaken

There was a serious increase in posters questioning Carlo after the Fulham.. its like it all came out the woodwork...

But, what I don't get is why some think this is because of the Fulham game in isolation. It wasn't. The Fulham game was the last straw for many (including myself) that have not voiced our concerns directly at Carlo, in spite of having them for some time. We are not saying Carlo must go.. far far from it, but we are rightly questioning if this is his template .. and if it is why?

Why does a team that consists of DCL, Digne, Godfrey, Richy, James, Doucoure, Keane amongst others have to sit back and allow themselves to be bullied.. not just by Fulham but by every single team we play.

The realisation for me was exactly when this happened. We often speak of the Liverpool game as being influential on both our seasons.. it was clearly a watershed game for me... the style and freedom we played with before.. and the reserved, regressive football we played after. Same players by and large.. different approach.

I personally comment on games as I see them, as they are happening.
If a player is underperforming or having a shocker, I call him out. If he’s having a corker, I praise him.
This is football, always has been, always will be the same.
Same with managers. When you see something so obvious, you comment on it.
None of us are experts, it’s all just views and opinions.
Carlo has forgotten more than all of us will ever know. But we are fans of Everton, so we comment. Some people’s comments are more balanced than others.
Once you have got your head around that basic concept it shouldn’t upset you so much.
I can see youre feeling personally attacked. Didnt have you in mind, but based on your response im guessing youre in the whine category.

So your solution to playing the midfielders we did, was to play a tiny winger who has struggled also, or play a striker that has just come here and is not fit ?

Thats cool, and thats your opinon. But that wont guarentee we would have won the game.

We lost the game because the central midfield would not close reed and the other centre mid down quick enough....and Coleman had a tough time agains Lookman, who has been playing well and had something to prove.

The players out on that pitch are all good enough to stop the above, but they didnt....it happens.

Not sure Onyango, King, Bernard and Virginia would have changed that.

There will always be different opinions on a football forum. That's the whole point of a forum. A forum becomes exciting when forum participants discuss with good arguments, and substantiate their claims.

Personally, I have never been a fan of Ancelotti's football philosophy, nor have I hidden it. But that does not mean I want him fired. I want him to succeed, and so far we have done well. But as far as I know, we are not in a sect where Ancelotti is our leader, and I reserve the right to criticize him.

What many point to, and it's not just about the match against Fulham, but a fairly large sample size, is that we create relatively few goal chances and have performed far better than expected. All in all, we often have an ultra-defensive approach, and it is difficult to see any sustainable development.

When teams do poorly, the manager and owners are often not worried as long as the team produces goal chances and usually has control of the matches. Most often it is just a matter of how long it takes before it turns. As Guerdiola said: "A coach's job is to get the team to the last third, and then it's up to the players." The same logic is often used in the opposite case. When teams produce more goals and points than what the various parameters say. Then it is a matter of time before you find your natural level.

That is the concern, and I think it is a rational concern.

I think we just need to accept that when Allan is out we do not have a midfielder that can really tackle and that we can't really expect consistently good performances when hamstrung like that. The team however has grown a backbone - United and spurs performances show that which is a real positive. Hopefully a combination of his return and our mettle will give us a strong end to the season.

Never really understood this argument. If the manager can't do anything to affect performance, what exactly are we employing him for. For me, if the manager gets it right I will praise him, if he gets it wrong i'll question him. There is ample evidence of me taking this approach with all managers and players in my posting history. It seems totally bizarre to me that anyone would do anything other than that, but there are definitely some bizarre people on here so maybe it's not that surprising.

No it wasn't fair at all.

After that 1 game, James is now a weak little child, and Holgate is a cocky championship player, with Carlo clueless.

Its not THAT bad ffs.

It was fair because it was the fourth disappointing home loss in the last couple of months. Players showed a lack of effort and commitment and people will always be annoyed by that.

People are allowed to be frustrated and people are allowed to be optimistic. People are different. This club have let people down for a long time so it's not a surprise there is pessimism. I feel pretty demoralised after watching the last match.

The Carlo stuff is being overplayed. He's the best manager we can possibly have but he's not perfect - no one is. He made some mistakes on Sunday but it changes nothing. He will get 10x more right than he gets wrong and if he's backed properly he will improve us. There is no doubt at all in my mind. The worry with Carlo is he has enough and chooses to leave us, not us replacing him.

Nail on the head! It was never sustainable.. and means that on any given day you are giving any given team a chance to beat you .. because you are not expressing your superior quality on them.
