Davies gets through more running than the two of them combined, but people don’t like him so he’ll always come under fire for defeats.

Never said I didn't like him. But it's not out of order to say he's a very slow, light weight, but technically very good player.

Also not out of line to say he's a squad player at best.

I don't know how anyone rates any of the midfielders. They get walked through every single gagame.
Is that not down to tactics as well?

City dominated the midfield last night, which they will do 9 times out of 10, but the majority of the game there was no midfield, Doucoure was tucked in between the right back and centre half and Davies was the same on the left hand side.

This seems to happen an awful lot and teams have the midfield to control games.

Maybe if we had midfielders playing centrally 20 yards further forward and competing for loose balls, 50/50 and putting challenges in we wouldn't have this midfield problem.

We have had some good results this season.

The idea that all fans want entertaining is laughable, I've said it before, I don't watch Everton to be entertained, I watch them to see us win.

But you are only ever as good as your last match on here.
My last match on here was me versus chico and I won 5-0.

I only used Man City to show how things take time even with a perfect scenario. With us, we have to offload four previous managers leftovers while creating a new team. I don't know how people can expect instant improvement under those conditions.

By the time all of those wasters have left, the new players we’ve brought in for our new team will all be well over 30 and probably need replacing too. That’s a bit of a concern and means the rebuild will need to start again in 2 years time.

Well what's your solution then mate? Because the way I see it we can either at least attempt to build something and get better or just continue as we are and keep getting angry that nothing ever changes.

I agree we should be trying to build something. At this very present moment in time I’m struggling to see what we’re building. Up until about the new year I could’ve said well we’ve learned how to grind out results despite playing poorly, but that looks to be levelling out now and we’re left with dour football that isn’t getting results.

Before anyone starts banging on about calling for the manager to be sacked, no that’s not at all what I’m saying. I am interested to see how he goes about turning this around.

If we don't qualify for europe this season then the season is a failure, regardless of how people want to spin things.

A poor league finish this year should have zero effect on the manager's position, but we are in danger of letting the season unravel. 9th or 10th is below par with this squad and Ancelotti would agree with that himself.
It shouldn't but I REALLY doubt Moshiri would be happy with hiring Carlo Ancelotti on a MASSIVE wedge to bring us from 11th to the dizzying heights of 8th.

No one should be happy and everyone should be demanding improvement next year.

But there would be absolutely no question of getting a new manager. That would just be stupid.

Im not sure what Moshiri expected really. Carlo on paper is a great manager but his successful 20 year career came about from being at clubs tailor made for success with great players and millions to spend at his will.

He’s come here with a proper crap squad and been given less than Fat Sam was given to spend pretty much. They can’t expect him to do anything really.

If they don’t back the man once again it’s failure on Moshiris part.

The defence is going to have to sit deep as long as Keane and Mina remain first choice, so it's a choice between having a massive gap between the midfielders and either the defenders or the attackers.

Allan is good when he's fit, which isn't very often, but the rest of them are very limited.

Ancelotti has basically conceded the centre of midfield for the majority of his time here, but I'm hoping that Allan may be available more often next season if the fixtures aren't as congested. There are times where he's struggled with the pace of the league, but I think he does a decent job of organising whoever is playing alongside him into some sort of coherent structure.
