I can't stand the way we play.

Everyone would like us to play better but that will come when we have our full line up fit and if we are in the CL next year the type of player we can get will also increase the quality.

Ask yourself at the moment would you want us to play champagne football and lose or get the best out of the raw materials and grind out a win instead.

How can you consistently post you're unhappy with that as an Evertonian unless you have other issues going on. And if that's the case then I apologise.

we have now won more league games than last season, with still 12 games to go, we have broke a few of our records for longest away wins, winning games in a row that we took years to do etc, only man city and Leicester have won more in League - we have to hope this season for any euro comps that this wont be one of those odd seasons a bit like when we got over 70 points and missed out on champions league when other seasons it was enough

If you swap the Newcastle Fulham (Normally two home wins) with Liverpool away and Spurs away (Normally two defeats) then we are exactly in the same position.

Actually Liverpool would be above us then.. give them 3 points. Spurs only one points behind .. sorry just thought should point that out

I was thinking before though, who do we change to improve the football massively? Does a right back instantly make us play free flowing football?

I think the following players are a shoe in when fit

Pickford
Keane
Godfrey
Digne
Doucoure
Allan
Rodriguez
Richarlison
DCL

That leaves question marks over rb and maybe another athletic midfielder.

But the above list that's a lot of players who won't be going anywhere and sometimes this lot struggle to put 5 passes together.

Its definitely something we've got to be looking at and the reasons why we've had a lot of games where the football has been of a poor standard imo.

Hopefully we bring in another 3 quality players, rb, right sided forward/winger and another energetic box to box midfielder.

I also think our levels performance wise drop off a cliff as soon as we start having to use back up players such as Iwobi, Bernard, Gomes etc and shows you our lack of depth.

I don't always agree with the rotation of Ancelotti but you can't knock him the way he's trying to keep everyone fresh and avoid fatigue injuries. He's certainly trying to look after his players and keep them as fresh as he can in preparation for the run in.

yep... can’t believe how hard I’ve been beating the drum that we have enough players of high quality to play good football. Adding that RB.. is it changing us that much. I don’t think so... but more balance.

Carlo is being proved right so I’ll keep quiet now if it’s sustainable .. but the way we play is not because of the players.. it’s the intended strategy.. sure Carlo would like some more quality at times but this is us ..

I honestly don't think the football is as bad as people are making out. Our defending is excellent and we are getting up the pitch regularly enough. Its often getting squandered by a poor final ball, which can be frustrating, but the intent and desire is there.

I think the football is about as good as it can be given the limitations of the squad he's got to work with, and setting us up to actually get results instead of just playing an idealistic style, which is where Martinez fell so short.

But then again, is anyone in this league playing any significantly better football than us apart from Citeh? It's not great anywhere you look.

Beginning of the season we were playing some sensational football, but leaky as hell.

We mostly got lucky in most of them and came out with wins.

Then our luck changed and Carlo decided that defense needs to be the foundation and we have recovered a lot of solidity, but at the expense of the team not yet maturing in it so we can transition well or reliably.

That will come over time and a little more quality in midfield
