Can't say I have ever enjoyed winning ugly. I have spent far too many hours at Goodison watching uninspired or sloppy football. The most successful teams are also usually the most exciting and best to watch: not purely from a purist viewpoint, speed and power provide a great spectacle too. The adrenaline rush of being competitive is one thing, but I would much rather we did it by playing attractive football too.

I enjoy winning. The end justifies the means in a results-oriented world.

I get what your saying though, I think we would all prefer doing well with style and panache.

But that's something that the squad and the club as a whole in terms of mentality, have to evolve towards over several years.

When you consider injuries, there have been plenty of times this season where we only had Doucoure available from the new signings,

Ancelotti is doing much better than expected with what he has had to work with.
