this game really exposed just how far we are when it comes to squad quality from top4.

It was already common knowledge. The teams above us all have superior quality and squad depth than we do.

We are a work in progress. When we get to the stage were we no longer need to rely on Alex Iwobi, Andre Gomes and need to use centre halves as full backs thats when we’ll be ripe to compete with those above us.

mate we know we need a far better squad

not coz of tonight’s game lol
I meant in terms of actual top4 positions. When the top teams are in form, not much we can do. Specially when our only reliable creative player (James) is out injured.

I do think that overall we looked solid defensively. That own goal was just unlucky, the ball was really soft and was never going in the back of the net otherwise. And penalty. That's about it. Sure we let through some shots, but Picks finally did his job. On the other hand, when it comes to going forward, no James no party.

we need creativity and when James doesn’t play we’re basic

Chelsea absolutely run as ragged there. Given our away form recently it's hard to be too critical. We were poor, really poor but move on I suppose. Top 4 a bit too far for us but hopefully can hold onto 5th and qualify for Europe.
