Under Brands?

We were battling against relegation the season after we sold Lukaku and replaced him with four CRAP number 10s. I mean, who the hell does that?

This led to the sacking of Koeman, the hiring of Allardyce, and the purchase of Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun for 40 million pound just a couple of months after needlessly blowing a fortune on four crap number 10s!

Brands’ woeful mismanagement is what led us towards the subsequent relegation battles that followed after his departure.

Brands was utterly woeful!
That was all under Walsh not Brands. But I agree I don't think Brands deserves much credit for his time at the club. Wasted a lot of money on players who didn't deserve it (Bernard, Mina, Gbamin, Delph etc), and didn't seem to do much behind the scenes either in terms of the academy

That was all under Steve Walsh mate. Brands didn’t come until after Walsh and Allardyce had both left the club. And the point remains, we had some poor runs in early seasons, but we had no relegation scraps until the appointments after Ancelotti. (And Benitez started that and was not a Brands appointment).

Don’t get me wrong, brands made mistakes, but like Walsh, was majorly let down by owner/chairman involvement. Which we aren’t seeing under Thelwell.

Didn’t want to get down in the trenches when the going is tough like Dyche is doing. Each to their own. World class manager who gave us a win at Anfield, can’t knock that he’d want to manage Madrid as well and win the CL again, but don’t blame anyone else for why you left.

No one in their right mind and in his position/standing would have stayed.

Dyche has something to prove.

Never seen anywhere mention 250k for James, everyone under the sun reports Doucoure as our highest earner a bit over Pickford.
James Rodriguez COMPLETES moves to Qatar side Al-Rayyan as Everton get the Colombian's £200,000-a-week salary off their wage bill from the daily mail.
But Carlo Ancelotti was also set on a squad revamp and added, among others, the £200,000-a-week wages of James Rodriguez from the liverpool echo.
Everton failed to offload James Rodriguez during the summer window because no club was willing to pay his astonishing £250,000-a-week salary from football insider.
The Colombian signed a two-year Goodison deal worth £250k a week in 2020. His contract included a clause to activate a third year from the telegraph.
With Rodriguez's wages reported to be £200,000 a week, a move to another club would be a significant financial saving for Everton from the bbc.

It has been widely reported thats just ones that came up when I searched online for his wage here and I'm not saying you're wrong about Doucoure or this only that we don't know either way thats all.

The Chairman (Bill Kenwright who passed away in October 2023) would often sit in at these meetings giving advice which we found strange as this was something I had not seen at other football clubs.”
I know we all knew this must've happened, but it is absolutely staggering to see it written in black and white, that our managers/coaches/dof would have to sit and listen to 'advice' from a theatrical impresario with no football professional experience.

Hopefully we'll never see this type of scenario ever again.

Well we do know he's the highest paid and that Pickford was on ~100k or so when he signed his new deal too tbh.
