I'm extremely happy about this Cazoo sponsorship.

- Only English sponsor on a PL shirt
- Reputable sponsor that can be sold on youth shirts
- Logo that has some style (presumably) and isn't just some plain font (aka Sportpesa)
- Replaces the revenue lost from the failed Sportpesa/criminal sponsor we rightfully broke ties with

This is a big WIN for us and should help both the team and Cazoo grow in the future.

Since 09/10 Spurs have finished 4th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. That's why they make so much more than us on sponsorship and shirt deals

Exactly, I remember when they signed their deal with Mansion and we resigned with Chang ours was worth £5.3m theirs was worth £7.5m I believe.
Back then we used the excuse of “oh they’re London”, but whilst that does factor in, I think small mindedness on our behalf edged that.

Since then Spurs have had some household names like Bale, Kane and Eriksen, appeared in Champions League on numerous occasions and even made the final.
I think it goes to show that you don’t need silverware to be financial strong.

But, don’t be too negative. There was a time Spurs, Villa and us were on a level playing field. At least we’re commanding some respect and money as opposed to Villa.

One thing I will say now though, we’re proud of where we’re at as a club, I’m the same, but look at clubs like Liverpool and Spurs. Furloughing staff to save themselves a fiver, meanwhile were forking our £150k to Sigurdsson. There’s business men at their club.

Pretty much sums everything up in my opinion. Plus, I loathed the fact we had an association with a betting company.Advertising with tobacco and alcohol was rightly banned years ago. I mean, I am no puritan by any stretch of the imagination, but gambling affects entire families and not just the punter.
The proof was when the owner of BET365 paid herself a modest £300 plus million last year, and then to keep above austerity levels, took a further £90 plus million in bonus payments.
Somebody is paying for that. It is immoral, but as long as taxes and VAT are being collected, I doubt much will be done about it.

Agree with the sponsorship thing but you're being a touch selective about business acumen. Furloughing staff is not really the opposite side of the coin to overpaying for a player and really isn't something that should be seen as to their credit.

If we want to be selective then it's very easy to make a case to slate Spurs. Zero spending in a summer transfer window, getting shut of Pochettino in favour of Mourinho and a little further back looking at how poorly the Bale money was spent.

And regardless of how good their new stadium is it took over 10 years of false starts and overspend to get it done. And had things gone as their "businessmen" wanted they would currently be the tenants of West Hams bloody awful Olympic stadium.

You can tell you have been in lockdown to long when you only just NOW notice the A in the name is set up to look like a car
