Confirmed Signing Cenk Tosun

We had the whole sandro release which dragged on interminably , the sigurdsson negotiations which were not only terrible to watch led to us signing an unfit player at a pretty massive price and now this . It does feel as if there is a pattern at play . I might be wrong but it also felt like we also did the it took too long and we paid to much for Schneiderlin.
Unfortunately, that one was resolved and we signed him.

Let's hope that, if (Kone's *&^%)1 does sign for us, he shows a bit more commitment than the last one to leave CL football behind for the bright lights of Goodison Park and the bigger wage packet.. step forward Kevin Antonio Joel Gislain Mirallas y Castillo

But he has to mate. Because Martina is awful.

You're also not taking rotation into account mate. End of the day Sam knows these players and knows if they need a rest. Holgate played at RB because Kenny, clearly, has run himself out. Same with Gylfi.

We've had to rotate the last few games and too much rotation has seen us lose that solidity we had in the first few weeks of his tenure. Get back to a settled team with one or two changes max per-game and we'll be fine. At the moment it's been six or seven, due to necessity.

Sam being here for a big transition means that we should get the basics right during it - which means we don't risk going down and can hopefully have a solid top 8 finish. It's not where we wanted to be but it's where we're at at the moment.

Then you don't play him mate, you could play Kenny at left back and Davies at right back, or Holgate there for example, I'd even prefer Lennon at rb and kenny at lb than seeing Martina there, because it absolutely destroys us going forward.

As for the transition thing mate, it should be led by a Director of Football, but not the current joke pretend one we have, but actually have the owner go out and get the best he can possibly get and let them lead the overhaul of the club throughout INCLUDING the hiring of a new manager and the decisions over players futures etc.

Don't understand all the fume, Besikitas have every right to ask for more money if they want to (whether a fee had originally been agreed or not) he's their player at the end of the day.

We tried to have Swansea off over Sigurdsson because we didn't want to pay anywhere near what they wanted (we had lads on here saying Swansea should just let him go because he wanted to come to us) but they stood their ground, which had to be admired. The funny thing is, it turned out Swansea had us off big style over Sigurdsson, £45m, haha.

But again - rotation.

For all Sam's faults, he isn't the dinosaur he's made out to be. He takes a very analytical approach to games and obviously felt that Martina was in a better physical shape to play than Kenny, and why shove Kenny at left-back where he's never played?

Martina is poor but relatively speaking has done well. However, he does require help.

You can get mad at having Sam here all you want but it won't change a thing mate. He hasn't made many bad decisions since he's come in and we're better now than when he took over. He needs to step it up over the next few weeks as we can't function going forward at the minute - but we haven't been able to do that all season.

We all also need to accept that we are miles off the top six in terms of quality. It's sad how crap we are compared to them. Barkley and Lukaku have masked a lot of issues with this team over the past two years.

Sigurdsson is a good player and has shown his worth in the last few weeks.

Not £45m, like, but it's all relative. Is he worth £30m less than Van Dijk???

I dunno mate

If you agree to a fee it's scummy business to then change your mind and then ask for more at that stage IMO

If they wanted more they should have been up front about it, rather than lie

All he's done in the last few weeks though Toff is work a bit harder, at the end of the day he's supposed to be one of our creative players, the only time he does that is by putting in the odd good set piece.

I agree it's scummy Mikey, but I wouldn't have a problem if it was us trying to do it, I love a bit of scummy snide.

We have left the offer on the table, what we should have done is withdrew the offer and moved onto another target, by us hanging around it's made us look desperate, so they've taken advantage of that.

Don't think we've been watching the same player tbh Lou.

He's worked hard since he got here. Difference is he wasn't fit due to no pre-season.

Last few games him and Rooney haven't played together - apart from the second half vs B'mouth where he was key to our goal, btw, by pressing high and playing a quick, incisive pass forward.

He's the least of our concerns. Him and Rooney were linking well prior to the Chelsea game. Hopefully they can pick that up again when they're back in together.

Doesn't help when he's playing as a forward yet the two/three midfielders only want to pass sideways.

And also, his set-pieces are more than the 'odd' decent one. They're - 9 times out of 10 - brilliant deliveries. If you watch De Bruyne, him and Gylfi have a very similar technique and delivery style. Difference is De Bruyne is lobbing it in to Aguero, Otamendi, Jesus, etc.

We've got 50p head Keane and DCL...

Not saying he's been good enough - none of them have - but Gylfi is one of our smaller concerns.

I'm hard to please Toff.
