The transfer that launched a thousand posts.Welcome to Everton Troy...
Best if Besiktas keep him then if those are the circumstances. They should never have even entertained our offer if there's not much in it for them (other than the money).I beg to differ, I think you have to also consider about the selling part... for Beşiktaş it's not an ideal time to sell a striker. Even if they have the best squad they are underperforming in the league, even European competition for next year is at stake. The team was flawless in ECL but drew Bayern in last 16 of ECL, possibly the strongest of possibilities.
Cenk's sub, Alvaro Negredo still needs time for adaptation. If Beşiktaş sells Tosun then a new guy should come and will need time to adapt. So there is nothing good in it for Beşiktaş except the money.
Everton's offer is pretty good in that term but this season income from ECL is around 47m €. If Beşiktaş can't qualify for ECL this year, the Board will be heavily criticized over Cenk's sale. So there is no paradise state in here
Even 20 millions would be a great sell for a Turkish club, but I believe he got this pre-deal with the German club and wants to force his chance with bigger amounts from you. We call this; he's fingering your boss in the arse
And I don't believe your boss will give up from him when you're that desperate about your strikers. And only for a few more million pounds? No, that would be silly for you! To be serious Cenk is a wonderful striker. We'll be very happy to get this amount of money from him first, but later we'll probably regret it. He improved himself amazingly. And for sure he wants more!
And also player wants to play in the EPL more than Bundesliga.
So, I congratulate you already! Will be following you and hoping your success in the leauge...
Here's a nice video from him:
This actually isn't his fault mate, from the sounds of it.
What a grim image that has conjured up.
This really sums it up mate.
The club need an absolute culling all the way through it, from the top down throughout to the players, and for one i don't want BFS anywhere near having an influence in that happening.
I defer to your vastly greater specific knowledge on the situation...cheersI beg to differ, I think you have to also consider about the selling part... for Beşiktaş it's not an ideal time to sell a striker. We had the whole sandro release which dragged on interminably , the sigurdsson negotiations which were not only terrible to watch led to us signing an unfit player at a pretty massive price and now this . It does feel as if there is a pattern at play . I might be wrong but it also felt like we also did the it took too long and we paid to much for Schneiderlin.
Well, I do agree it needs a clear-out, but I don't mind Sam being here for it.
I don't think he got it wrong yesterday in how he set up the system or the players he picked - it was an attacking line up.
Issue was we came out in the second half and sat back so deep and in all fairness to Sam he knows the problems. He said in his post-match he should have made the subs sooner and he takes responsibility for that, but at the same time he also correctly put responsibility on the players as well. They do it far too often and have done under three successive managers now. Come out at half time, sit deep and then just don't push out until the 60th minute. Every game.
Sam needs to sort that - so I'm glad to see he spoke about it - now he needs to act.
Who is Sandro?Another Sandro this one...
What a grim image that has conjured up.
Putting an attacking line up is one thing, your instructions to those players is another, Bolasie spent half the game or more covering for Martina at left back mate, pretty sure that was part of the plan, in which case it's perceived as a attacking selection but anything but that as you're choosing him to do a defensive role for large stretches of the game. Also playing a 3 cb's in a back 4 is now perceived as an attacking line up? we had Holgate - a cb, and martina who provides nothing but stagnation going forward as our 'wide men' - not an attacking line up mate, just some attacking players squeezed into a defensive shape and formation
As for Same being here for a clear out, will be the worst thing that could happen to the club if this bloke has any say on personnel mate.
