2018/19 Cenk Tosun

He's very useful at hold/link-up and can finish, which means he has all the skill/talent needed to be a good striker, but isn't on the ball nearly enough to get a good return from it. Thought he was brilliant first half against Valencia and did well with his assist today, but I think he needs to ensure he isn't watching the game passively for 87 minutes of the 90.

Thought he had another solid game. Essentially doing the running of two following the red and put a lot of effort in.

Understands his own limitations and strengths well and tries to play within them. Some good closing down and put himself about well.

Should've passed to Walcott but that side of his game will improve in this team I think.

Saying that, thought he could've come off for Niasse or Calvert-Lewin sooner -- needed more energy up there with 10.

Top slotter...... I don't see it...

My concerns....

Does not get in positions enough to score...
Seems to be missing most of the games....
Not particularly good in the air....
Passing very wayward.....
Does not look likely to score in games....
Not particularly quick, even over 5 yards....
Niasse looks more dangerous as a goalscorer....
At best is will score 10+ goals which will not be enough to get a top 6 position....
A weak point in the team & squad....

We really do need a top slotter atm I do not see it in Cenk....

Hope I am wrong btw..

If we had Rom still here we would have won yesterday, hell even a Bacca, Batshuyai etc.

He just isn't good enough to lead the line imo. Useful squad player but thats about it.

He is another legacy of Walsh that will need to be managed over the next few years.

He isn't a bad player, he is actually pretty good.

But he is nowhere near the quality we'll need to start winning things. Longer term I'd like to see Richarlison in at #9 and Bernard/Walcott/Lookman forming the rest of the front 3.

But for now he is fine.

This Emre Satigul from Turkish football keeps quoting Everton fans as comparing Tosun to the Turkish Harry Kane and saying he gave a performance of "elite forward play". A click on the posters twitter profiles shows they are both Arsenal fans and sports posters in general. More lazy journalism

Let’s wait until the end of the season to see how many goals he gets then we can say if he is any good or not...I can see him getting easy 20 for the season which would be amazing...but let’s wait and see
