There is another instance of this in the game, I think it was Iwobi placed a beautiful ball where DCL is flat footed. If he starts making the run he can get an easy shot from 10 yards out but he far too often doesn’t anticipate. DCL doesn’t get to the header Tosun scores on.

Actually thought his all round game was terrible when he came on, but who cares. As a sub you can’t ask for more than a goal, and it was a proper strikers finish. Good on the lad for doing his best when he’s clearly down the pecking order. And fair play to silva for using him when he’s obviously not convinced.

Would love it if he got the chance to start and went on a bit of a scoring streak in the next few games. One of the first to comfort Gomes as well yesterday and stayed with him along with Digne. Well done on all aspects Cenk.

His all round game is always poor.

He is what he is, slow, cant link play, doesnt hold ball up well.

But he is a natural goalscorer and has instict for the ball in the box. He also has a willing attitude.

Struggle? what chance has he really had? You should know that Silva does not like starting young players.

Wouldn't be against him getting a run of games now with Richarlison out wide and Iwobi back central. You just know Gomes injury is the perfect excuse for Gylfi to come back into the side though.

The fact is no other striker in the squad would have put that half chance away on Sunday. He's proved he's a finisher but just needs a run now to sharpen up. Let's face it, whoever he replaces it will not be a huge loss. I'd also say he has a bigger claim out of what we have at present to wear the hallowed blue shirt with 9 on the back of it. Beggars can't be choosers at the moment with the choices we have.

Cenk didn't have to be in training, and it may be understandable if he wasn't in the squad, but he was in training today. Hope he smashes it this weekend.
