Only Liverpool player back then worth watching was McDermott...then again he was so un-Liverpool anyway. The rest were hard running thugs for the most part and shut down games very quickly when they got their noses in front. I despised them. I couldn't even stick Dalglish's style of play. There's never been any flamboyance about that club (the Evans team in the early to mid 90s had a go like, but failed badly).

They wernt a bad side back then. Bad club, yeah, but a good team.

Effective.

I do think there's collective amnesia surrounding that Liverpool team in their pomp in the late 70s/early 80s. The honours they won have flattened any serious acknowledgement of their style of play. They weren't known as 'pass the ball back Liverpool' for nothing. Yes, they had class players, but they were a powerful hard working unit for the most part, and deadly negative for a lot of the time. As said, though, the titles and euro success smash down on that like a ton of bricks. Nevertheless, they were not an attractive team to watch. It's in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

Yep. Anyrate, a bit off topic, (my fault, not yours mate). Have a good week. ;)

It was great to see a Brazilian, Urguayan and Croat bring the title home for the people of Catalonia

More than a club!

Absolutely, Més que un club!

What was impressive about Barcelona´s victory for me was that 6 players also played in the team that won the final 7 years ago.

Not too many top sides have such continuity.

We'll see how many stick around when they experience some hardship

Of course, hardship for them is finishing lower than 2nd and not reaching the latter stages of the Champions League

Misery is relative I guess

It's a special era for the club, with special players and hence great success in terms of trophies

Ignorant however to claim the club never experienced hardship
