Champions League revamp

The RS find a way to get around the consequences of failing to qualify for the CL once again! They will be quids in even if UEFA muster up the balls to dismiss them from the CL and/or domestic competitions.

I just hope that UEFA do have the balls to dismiss them because in the long run, the super league would become a white elephant if the clubs had no domestic competitions.

Im no longer feeling as confident as I was before tho, the big clubs have made their move and I’m starting to think that UEFA and the premier league won’t do much about it at all.

Who cares if they’re quids in? Liverpool football club is dead. That’s it, it’s gone. Finished. Rust in pieces.

I don’t think this will stick. The World Cup without the best players isn’t as valuable for sponsorship. Many of the very best players are contractually tied to these 12 clubs. Money has fuelled much of this and I have a feeling that those in charge will not stick to their guns.
Just need to hold their nerve. Plenty of these clubs have players who won't play in the World Cup and plenty of others with aging stars.

A world cup with quality younger players featuring alongside big names not at these clubs would be very attractive.

Brinkmanship by the so called 'Elite' to force UEFA/FIFA into giving them more control and cash.
I think we're past the brink. They've gone over the edge and the reaction should be to cut them out. If they want to try and run a competition hostile to the rest of football fine, they can try it, but the players should be banned from everything the second they touch the league, the clubs should be given no welcome back to the league pyramid and everyone should continue without them.

They want to have both. You cannot let them.

Yes.

Theres no easy win here. But theres only 1 potential longer term win. The PL have to have it's own product that outdoors the super league.

Both have advantages, but overall the PL is in the better position.

Allowing them to stay, would kill the PL, and theyd leave at some point in the future anyway.

It would open doors for investors wanting in that cant access it now.

This Super League is a closed shop.

Only if they are dismissed from domestic competitions. If they are allowed to continue, they’ve just become 20 times more powerful and we will still have to try and compete with them, and fail to do so!

If they’re allowed to stay in PL then every fan should boycott the games when these shower turn up
They'll be staying in the PL. The others depend on them to maintain the crazy TV money. These "super" clubs want as much power as they can get from UEFA, and are essentially attempting a repeat of what the PL "Big Five" did to the FA - get them out of the way and take over. I think they've overreached, though, made UEFA look like knights in shining armour, and will accept less than this but more than what UEFA were originally prepared to give them. They win and UEFA can say they put up a fight. UEFA will have to concede so much or they will, potentially, lose international football as the smaller federations will collapse with no CL money and the clubs will effectively kill it. But the clubs have to be careful too as this will turn the stomachs of many fans. I think we'll eventually see a compromise that favours the clubs but maintains UEFA as a weaker governing body.
