Even if they don’t though, something has now been broken. I’m not watching a PL that exists where 6 teams have transfer budgets of half a billion a season and the rest struggle to put 10 mill together. It’s now forever become ‘them’ and everyone else now. It can’t go back to what it was. One group has to wither and die and hopefully it’s that lot.

Sky have been pushing that for years. “The big four” and so on. Look at the build up to games, the opposition barely gets a mention before kick off.

Banter? I really don't want to repeat the names they are calling us, but I've realized they hate us with a real passion. Not only the fans of Everton, but also the fans of other clubs that we have no real rivalry with.

As for English league history, it's been destroyed in 1992, when the football pyramid was cut off the Premier League. Now, the remaining 14 Premier League clubs have been served the same meducine. Why should LFC pay for Ancelotti's massive wages, that are far higher than Klopp's wages?

Couple of things the PL can do....

Deduct points.
Financial caps.
Transfer restrictions
Be allowed to only field registered players from FIFA/UEFA etc.

Keep them in the league but restrict how they operate. Still allows people to watch their beloved Spurs etc globally as at the end of the day, it's the brand, not the actual players that make it...right??

They can do what they want in the Super Duper League.
 
What’s really great about this is that these clubs have made it official. They don’t care about competition, or tradition, or their players, or their staff, and especially not their fans. They care about money, end of. Every single person who cares about their club is a customer to them. That stink will never wash off, even if (when) this league collapses on itself and they try to slink back to their domestic leagues.

Something like that will be the long game. That's what I meant by leveraged. Use the prestige of the clubs named to get it set up, supply the money to attract the players, then you can do what you want. To an international market, watching the best players is all that matters. Tradition and geography are irrelevant.

So bad this.
