Champions League revamp

Ugh. Be basically the end of the FA cup for the lower league sides. Their dream draws are against one of those gimped sides. This is horrendous for football but I actually think it needs to happen. Boot them out and get the recovery jon going. It's sad to think where we are now, so much foreign ownership using peoples clubs as toys. I'm religious about everton, obsessive, fanatical. I cant imagine what it would feel like if we were involved in this you know, be genuinely heartbreaking.

There has to be unity between all the excluded 14 PL clubs, and the whole of the EFL for that matter.

You can't stop groups of clubs acting together in their own perceived interest, but the idea of other club representatives leaving the room at PL meetings to allow the big boys time to discuss things between themselves should never have been allowed.

It's symbolic but it goes to the core of the issue. Bit by bit clubs have been sidelined and yesterdays events are totally inevitable as a result.

The other clubs should now respond in unison, particularly the 14 PL clubs and co-ordinate their response.

I'm sure they will do but this has to be on the basis of consequences for the breakaway 6. They have to be prepared for a newly constituted Premier League if it comes to it.

These 6 clubs want everything on their terms. They can have their Super League, that's fine, but not the Premier League on top.

If they don't make a stand now, then the long-term implications for a club like ours are even worse than they might become.

We may have to endure serious disadvantage in the short to medium-term to give ourselves a chance of coming out the other side intact on this.

Imagine Moshiri, Blue Bill or DBB taking about our match going fans and season ticket holders as "legacy" fans, and that they aren't interested in catering for us and are only concerned with the fans of the future......how would you all feel?

The other 14 clubs need to get a statement out against this rapid - the longer they leave it the worse it looks, and I am sure that some may have been "paid off" - hope we are clear of any muck.

The whole thing has knocked me sick, as it should any fan of the game, but that legacy crap is an absolute kick in the proverbials.

I actually feel sorry for the true supporters of the club's involved (even the 6000 local murderpool legacy fans) in this digusting power grab.

I'm absolutley stunned that they can talk about the institutions and their local supporters in such a derogatory and crass way.

The 12 need annexing from every competition - make them all start at the bottom of the pyramid, its a disgrace.

150 years, fans who spend thousands going up and down the country to be referred to as "legacy", whilst they focus on "new" fans.

I feel for the fans.

It's not the same thing if it were an open choice to join another league pyramid. The only controversy is if they joined at the top of it, but if these six jokes are binned off there's an argument for it at least.

Any Scottish/Welsh clubs coming into our system would be promoted and relegated the same as any other club. Therein lies the core difference between that and this 'Super League'.

Personally I'd be all for the amalgamation of the Scottish/Welsh/NI leagues into a UK-wide pyramid. The only obstacle to it really is where they all start.
That wont happen mate. Politics will dictate it. The respective FAs dont want it, they wouldnt allow their players to play in the Olympics under GB. The reason the Welsh clubs are in is because they were invited 100plus yrs ago because they didnt have their own league. They dont want to, understanably, lose their idendity as the FAs would dissappear.

How are they being unfairly targeted above others?

They certainly are being targeted more, but not unfairly. They are two of the prestige clubs of English football that should know of the value of their heritage more than any other. They both play on it week in, week out.

Chelsea/Man City and there 'nouveau riche', oil soaked, so it's expected they'll jump on any financial bandwagon. Spurs and Arsenal are an irrelevance, there solely due to being the bigger London clubs.

It is 100% correct that United and Liverpool take the lions' share of the flak, as they have enabled this.

Honestly it's the only reasonable course of action

I get that, just saying I wouldn't be against it if it somehow could happen.
