Champions League revamp

I support Hajduk Split. I've grown up to a shitty, corrupt & rigged domestic league, where you need a miracle to happen for Dinamo not to win it. Or maybe 2-3 miracles, all in the same season, can't decide yet.

So their chances of winning anything but Croatian Cup are slim, let alone something else. But it's football, it's something I genuinely go for the experience of it to a stadium. Same with lower league football that I frequent sometimes.

But when I do want to watch & enjoy football, I watch only the big games and big clubs.

Makes a lot of sense then.

Absolutely fine with you having an opinion, but you need to read the room, and understand that your opinions here, really aren't thought through in the way you think.

I'd go into the facts that the Croatian League has been absolutely decimated by the big leagues, and that as part of a leagues Split have been in have produced two european cup winners in 40 years. Power has stopped Croatia growing their league, and now you seem happy that Hajduk cannot ever qualify for this. What is the point in your existence? Why follow Hajduk? 25 years ago, you made the Quarter Finals of a Champions League.... don't you ever want that back?

The big games in the Premier League are usually horrendous, tight, cagey affairs.

You want to watch Tottenham who lost to Dinamo, but won't watch Porto who beat Juventus. It's just a totally flawed view, and doesn't make any sense at all.

Right, 'saddest day'. You'll get over it and eat up the new product if it comes to life, as will everyone else. Don't worry about it. For all the big talk here about how you're all disgusted, 99% of you will most likely sub to it. Maybe not right away, but it'll happen.

So you are alright with it because it technically doesn't effect you right?

Society in a nutshell right there.

99% of us will subscribe to it?

Only 1 family I know still subscribes to sky or bt for football. I dont know what the % of the uk population subscribe to sky and I'm certain you don't- because it isn't 99%.

What other data are you making up to make a point?

you know I'm right, that's why you're upset. You'll be watching Barca vs Real day in day out.

If being a football fan means I have to have an emotional relationship with the game itself, and every club playing, then no. For rest, read the previous reply.
Don’t watch it now.
If you think that this won’t get boring quicker than you did, you are on the wrong path chum.

It's different. Different can be good. Footy is not baseball or hockey or whatever. It's been a certain way for about 140 years and now these assholes are trying to completely change it completely. It's a terrible thing and needs to be dealt with swiftly and harshly.

I love the american set up, i'm sure we've discussed that in US Sports threads before. They're fantastic, but like ourselves, imagine introducing promotion/relegation to the big 4.

Imagine the Yankees being relegated? It's 150 years of tradition, and i don't care how much money i've got, i'm not going to try and change a fluid, effective system.

Relegation is never and will never be part of European Football. They need to ditch the idea, and hopefully you're right and it's done as soon as possible.

Imagine Moshiri, Blue Bill or DBB taking about our match going fans and season ticket holders as "legacy" fans, and that they aren't interested in catering for us and are only concerned with the fans of the future......how would you all feel?

The other 14 clubs need to get a statement out against this rapid - the longer they leave it the worse it looks, and I am sure that some may have been "paid off" - hope we are clear of any muck.

The whole thing has knocked me sick, as it should any fan of the game, but that legacy crap is an absolute kick in the proverbials.

I actually feel sorry for the true supporters of the club's involved (even the 6000 local murderpool legacy fans) in this digusting power grab.

I'm absolutley stunned that they can talk about the institutions and their local supporters in such a derogatory and crass way.

The 12 need annexing from every competition - make them all start at the bottom of the pyramid, its a disgrace.
