Champions League revamp

The vast majority won't walk away. They will threaten it, might even swerve a season or two but they will be back. Look at the Utd fans with the green and gold scarves. They wore scarves to protest but still went the game and spent their money.
Generally speaking it doesn't work like that. Going to the game is effectively a habit. People like me do it because it's what we do, we can't think of a life that doesn't involve going to the game (when possible) because it's what we've always done. It's part of who we are, and there's a bond with the people you go with that ties you all into it together. Once you stop, the habit and the bonds are broken, and I think it's pretty easy to never get back into it. I know plenty of people who used to go to games religiously and stopped for one reason or another (usually finances or family reasons) who've never started going again once their situation has changed.

I do myself mate but my point being, the so called 'big 6' standing is where we are trying to be. I know full well the vast majority would switch places in a heartbeat and be laughing at them for not being deemed a good enough club.
Really? Full well eh?
Maybe it's me, but it seems my understanding of what Everton 'is' and what you believe we are are poles apart.
Maybe it's generational.
My family go back to the very start and I'm as blue as the next but I would quite quickly walk away in a heartbeat if we became like them.
Think you're misjudging here.

The group that really has the most leverage to stop this abomination in the long run is the players. These clubs have made a bit of a miscalculation, I think, about the loyalties of these so-called “future fans.”

The fans they mean are the ones like my girlfriend’s brother-in-law, who is a Korean guy that grew up in China. He is an early-30s, FIFA-playing football “fan,” but his fandom is heavily driven by the superstar players. He just follows Ronaldo wherever he goes. He was a Real Madrid “fan,” and now he’s a Juventus “fan.”

But what happens if someone like Ronaldo or other big-name players refuse to play in the Super League (especially with the threat of missing Euros and World Cups)? You think that guy will still pay any attention to Juventus, wherever they’re playing? Of course not. That type of “fan” is so fickle. They have no concern for teams, only players. Almost like pop stars or movie stars. So if those players say no, the “future fans” will be lost anyway.

Yes in asia they mostly choose teams based on players.

If those players didnt play in internationals then far less of the public would have any interest in them...as they did for say England players after the korea Japan 2002 world cup.

This chap is class.

That Klopp quote that is doing the rounds came from this douchebag and was plucked right out of his ass. His massive 850 followers gives a hint of his credibility.

i mean Chico is classed as hilarious, and he’s a douche, can’t have it both ways! lol

Fair play, he got me.
