TBF he mentioned Everton because were part of the big 5 who pushed for it, and the fact that the big X changes.....
Big difference was in 1992 we and the others didnt not say to the other clubs , we have want the money , and we are keeping it, you are just going to be on the outside looking in , and will never be allowed to have a piece of the action.
Every team in England could have a go at getting up to the prem or lose its place , this is totally different.

This just shows they love media adulation and limelight above anything else. ‘Why do you all criticise us for trying to ruin the game? Please don’t criticise us, it’s not allowed’

If FIFA / UEFA stick to their guns, the scabs are in a serious hole.

South American players have attachments to their national teams that is incredibly strong. No way Messi is going to want to miss a world cup, his last chance to emulate Diego. Lady boy at FC Furlough too. Look at Richie, if Brazil played a game of beach football in the Antartic, he would be off to it.

Brazilian players live to play for the national team, as do all the rest for their selecciones. Dont mention it to the Uruguayans. A football team with a country.

The scabs have factored in that everyone else will back down.

Stand up to a bully and it is the last time they will bully you.

Yes to a degree.

One other angle on this, but without the 6, it might be a smaller pie (say 80% of the pie) but you can get a far bigger slice without the big 6 can't you?
Recon tv money without the 6 would be a lot less than 80%.
What’s the biggest game for the neutral? Would honestly watch it?

I think it was their agenda when they first took over, but they're a stable global force on their own now.

I honestly think they not fussed either way with this super league as they've not done what FSG or the Glazers have done, they've invested their own money in building a business, infrastructure, and club other clubs want to copy on how to run. None of that diminishes for them in or out.

I agree with every bit of what you said, but I think the key point is still the motivation for it. They have made it a successful business, but the goal is purely to enhance brand abu dhabi - they dont care about the balance sheet or the incremental reputation, they just want to be percieved as a global elite club and leverage the PR that comes off the back of it
